Hey guys I just bought a TR stock for my F and I know I need a new trigger guard and bottom metal. The problem is everyone recommends to get the DIP kit and they don't ship to Canada. Any one know where ekse I can buy their product or something beefy like theirs? I know I can get the stock stuff which if I have no other choice I will but if I can improve on something right off the bat I may as well.

At least as far as the bottom metal goes, it is really simple to make your own. I just got a hunk of flat steel bar stock from home depot, traced the current on on my savage onto the bar stock, and went to work with a hacksaw for the bulk of the shape, then a bench top grinder for the rest. A hand file cleans everything up nicely. A drill press will drill you holes in the right places, and cut out the magazine well hole. Nothing 1/2 hour of elbow grease won't get you done. And you get the bonus of tweaking the shape to customize it to your gun.

Just sayin.

I use DIP products on all of my guns... "personally sourced," if you get my drift...

As said above, the bottom metal is easy to make if you are so inclined... you can get a metal TG and longer action screws directly from Savage also (1 800-370-0708)... ask for MKII/93 "E" "B version" stock hardware... specify either MKII (.22 LR/.17 HM2) OR 93 (.22 WMR/.17 HMR).

HA HA personally sourced... I like that. I may try personally sourcing mine too but if that don't work I'll have to resort to the factory stuff.

My TR trigger guard is metal from factory so no need to replace. and I made my own plate out of stainless with a dremel...

Also you might want to get a Rifle Basix trigger...

Boyds doesn't carry DIP they carry the factory stuff. I can order factory stuff from a few places. Where did you get your rifle basix trigger DILL?

Rifle Basix ships to Canada... or at least they did... I have a Basix trigger on a Pre-E HM2... I wouldn't bother if I had the Accu-Trigger already.

I just had a few lazer cut out of 12 guage polished stainless. They turned out very nice. I have a few left if anyone is interested ( add is in the EE)
