I want to get one of these;
http://www.savagearms.com/firearms/model/MARKIIFVT
and put it in a wood or laminate stock, also put a rail on it, and be able to use it with a nice scope, and then swap it out for the aperture sights for benchrest day at the club.
My only obvious concern is the price seems a tad high for a synthetic blued rifle, even though the sights are worth $150. That means i'd be paying ~ $300 for a MKII synth blued just because it is tapped and has a rail attached for the peep sight. Mind you this is all including HST and shipping BNIB.
So how easy would it be for me to find a used wood/laminate stock that would fit the gun for a reasonable cost? Has anyone used it in this configuration with the williams sights? I have read many good things about the MKII otherwise, and frankly just want one because it's Canadian made..
