I think that Savages motive behind this deal is strictly a business decision. Its too bad that the sponsors here who are just passing along this deal, have taken so much flak...its not them offering this deal, theyre just passing it on. If you want to whine...whine to Savage.

Savage is not so much looking to thank and show appreciation to the police and the military for their service....otherwise they would have included those who have served and retired.

The police sniper market is ruled by Remington. Savage wants to try and gain some ground in this market. This is their motive. If enough coppers/soldiers buy and like these rifles..maybe some of them will be in a position now or in the future to make decisions on what their forces purchase.

Good decision on their part? I guess time will tell. But no need to whine on here.

Quick question I already ordered mine, but I was wondering if there is a limit that you can bring in? Or you just take order and once it's done you get them in for every one that ordered?

We'll email the forms to download or we may just provide a link to download them at. Once we have the forms filled out we'll send them in and Savage will send us the guns...early January.

For glass I'm leaning toward a Sightron SIII 10x42 what height of rings would I need ? low or medium ...?

I am using a set of low rings on mine w/ my Sightron SIII, fits just right but as mentioned somewhere already you'll probably have to go to an adjustable cheek rest to get a good weld and save your neck. I went with the Tacpro.

Just ordered a Vortex Diamondback 4-12x40 BDC and a pair of low rings for this rig. I'll hope to upgrade to a target turret scope after a bit but I'm supposed to be saving for a wedding.

I was talking to my Fiance last night and I said my goal was to build a 500 yard rifle under a $1000.00. I had also texted her the same information yesterday afternoon. She said " A THOUSAND DOLLARS! in your text you said a HUNDRED DOLLARS!"

Chicks... a precision rifle for a $100.00. God bless them.

Very well stated. +1

It's a sweet deal, some people will be in a position to purchase a great rifle. Very nice indeed, and a great marketing/business idea.

This. I don't know of any teams NOT using a Rem700. Not round these parts anyhow...

Sounds like a new kind of registry to me. It is a nice gesture but I am not sending a copy of my ID to anyone and I don't like the idea of my address and that ID being together anywhere but GHQ. For those reasons alone I will pass.

The idea of giving discounts and freebees to the police comes from many years ago when the pay was terrible and the efforts of the police were appreciated. I feel that I am and have been well paid and I don't expect any discounts no matter how well intentioned.

Could do what i did and use the office address....and i used a business card; not my ID...

You sure this has nothing to do with you telling her how "much" you paid for other rifles...

The copy of your ID doesn't go any place but here. There is a form for you to fill out but it is the dealers responsibility to verify that info before sending it off...ie see the ID in person or a copy of it. Feel free to black out any parts you don't want anyone to see.

Which is more than fair Ryan, and in line with any other vendor selling some products exclusively to law enforcement (like many vendors with body armour), or others who offer discount programs from Glock, Arc'teryx to Oakley.

Thank you.

The Savage importer gets a form I fill out showing that I verified the person getting the rifle is LE/Mil then I shred/burn/delete the info....I have to heat the shop some how :)

I'll be emailing the form to everyone that purchased a rifle later this week and calling everyone to let them know about all of the other LE programs that are offered.
