Savage Model 12 Long Range Precision in 260 Rem

Mine has arrived!:dancingbanana: I think those of you who are waiting for your orders should check with your dealers, since they all receive theirs from the same distributer/shipment (I think).

Now, back to looking for a $500-$600 ish, long range scope to complement this baby. What is the best value in the market right now? Where?

I was thinking about having my 6x24-50 Trophy on it for now, but that would be an atrocity, wouldn't it?

Yes it would be atrocious. Get a Sightron scope.
 
Been shooting mine a bit and have been real happy. I will get some pics next time I take it to the range but I don't see the weather co-operating for a while. I put a 8-32 sightron on it and so far so good but I haven't really used it too much yet since putting it on. With 140 Berger target bullets I have had some cloverleafs at 200 yards.
 
I have had a Savage 223 f t/r model on order for almost a year now and the lack of any accurate delivery information has take me from a fan of Savage to never wanting to deal with the company or use their products. If they can't run a company that has any better idea of what and when something will be available I no longer have any faith in their ability to build a quality fire arm. The total contempt they has shown to their Canadian customers is unacceptable I don't mind some telling me it will 8 or even 12 months for delivery but when all they will say is maybe next month for almost a year now I say sorry I can have one custom built faster that will be better and only cost a little more. Savage can kiss my ,,,, well lets just say I am no longer a |Savage Fan.
This whole thread has been as much about how poor their delivery has been as it has been about the rifle it's self. That is a sad comment on a company.
 
Says it has a mag so I guess it's not the same action as the 12 LRPV ? Does it come with the target trigger? The one u can adjust to 6ouz?

Also the stock, how is it? Says its not the accu stock.
 
I made it to the range with a camera. I have a lrp in 260 rem with a 8-32 sightron and fired this group at 200 yards. First shot was from a clean bore. Then I fired a group of 5 right after and things were looking good till I got greedy and tried to snake in number 7. I think that those of you still waiting for yours will be quite happy. I used brand new brass full length sized brass and I am no competition shooter.

One more time out to the range today at 600 yards. I'm really liking the sightron scope too. Dialing up and down lots and so far it hasn't skipped a beat.
