Savage Precision Carbine

if you havent bought your rings yet:
on a Remington 700 action, with the 20 MOA Farrel bases, a 50mm objective easily clears in LOW rings. i would suspect the same with a Savage.
im using low Leupold QRW rings. in fact the objective bell touching the rail was more of a problem than clearance over the barrel.

i would try low rings first. on the remote chance that they dont clear, at least you tried -- its better than having a 3/4" space between your objective and barrel.

I have a Farrell 20moa base and XTR med rings on order with Mystic right now. I will post picks when the rings and base arrive. I am using Butler creek covers as well so I need the space for that too. Just waiting for the order to get in;)

icedragonmx are those first pics at the gravel pits at seddons corner? looks familair thats where im from

Yes thats the spot! I have spent a few years at this spot learning how to not shake too much!:D

brucecorporal -am I wrong to wonder as mine didn't come with the 4 base mounting screws?

I am still waiting on my base as the rings are back ordered. I hope the screws come with it as I just took that for granted:confused: Might want to make a call.

Did you sort out the missing screws? I just got my 20moa Ken Farrell base (SAV-RTS-1-20) from Mystic today!:D The bolts, tool, and torque specs and bedding hints etc were all there. I will so be spending more money with Mystic soon when the reloading starts:cool: Thanks

And it shoots damn good as well....:sniper:

Won't do too good right now. Right now my scope is sitting loose on the desk...I have a new 20 moa rail on it but no rings till next week some time:(. I have US Optics rings in the mail with my name on it so in less than a week I should be ready to shoot again!:D :sniper:

Back in action after I get it sighted in! Have the rings and scope mounted and the scope sits way higher. from 1.6 to 2.1 over the bore, 7mm of space over the barrel. Room for a 56mm scope now(upgrade pending)

Got out with the new mount and rings today! I can still have a 100 yard zero and room for 44moa of up. Had a great day shooting and it was very warm out. Didn't do too good at 500yards as the wind was not a pal today:redface: Best was .9 moa. Did have a benchmark moment at 100 yards as I shot my first sub .25moa group!:sniper: Made my day:D Was shooting 168gr FGMM ammo out of a stock PC10 Savage with Farrell 20moa base and USoptics rings(P6M-3000-M), lots of room for a 60 or 56mm scope with this set up! Thanks too the CGNers that were there and on with the pics!

Can you say a good day of shooting!:D:D:D

Thanks! A month and a half is a long wait. I know it will be worth it but damm.. Hope you have all the rings/mounts/scope lined up already. Hope it shows soon!

Thanks, Yes, I'm going nut's, hopefuly this month.
I ordered gun with Leupold base and will use rings and spare scope I have for now. Just have to switch some things around again... :) Farthest I can safely shoot right now on my property is 366 meters. So a regular 3x9 Elite 4200 will have do for now. If I decide to go with better optics, I will have to start saving for it :)
