Saw Brinks guys with M&P's

Do you think they are better armed with a M&P auto vs a S&W wheelgun?

As much as cops are better armed with semis than with the wheel guns of yester-year.

Frankly, I'm glad I get to carry 51 rounds of 9 mm vs. 18 38 Spl +p.

LL

Frankly, most cops wouldn't be disadvantaged with a 6 shot wheelgun either.... ;)

Well, that is open for debate. :p Not everyone is a crack shot...

On a more serious note, there was an incident here in town 4 years ago where one of our officers had his throat slit from ear to ear. While clutching his throat and pusuing the assailant, he drew and fired his pistol, striking the guy in the leg - with the last round from his G17. The officer then succumbed to his wound and died.

His heroic action led to an arrest at the local hospital, and a greater plan to murder more police and civilians was foiled.

So in this case, 17 rounds was a good thing.

Your point is taken.... However, the NYPD did a study of their police involved shootings from 1996 to 2006. Big police agency, fair amount of shooting....... The average # of shots fired by an officer is still ~ 3.7 shots per incident. But I suppose it is better to 'have' and not need than the other way around when the SHTF.

17 round mags? I'd heard a rumour that CFO's were only approving 10 round mags for armoured car employees.

The CFO's need to give their noggin's a good shake! If they are going to approve autos for armoured car persons then they outta go full on and allow them hi-cap mags, too.

Did you apply for that Firearms Officer job? I may go back to Brinks if you get it and let us have the right toys :)

Not a chance.... I believe to apply for one of those 'positions' you have to support the 'legislation'... ;)

Besides, I'm not quite ready for that much of a 'pay cut'.... :D

I wouldn't want to ever be caught with my pants down...
