it says hello

I was happy to receive this little guy, NEA gen 2 upper today (after a bit of teasing by Canada post - tracked as "out for delivery" 3rd day today! ughh)

I'll have to let you guys know how it runs after I try it.

here it sits on a Norinco lower ... fits perfect! I tried it on my Daniel defense lower, whereas the front takedown pin fits, but the rear would have to be hammered in and punched out (I'm sure it'll fit, but won't try). I was planning on using it on my Norinco all along!, but since there was so much discussion about the uppers not fitting on anything other than NEA, I bought a NEA lower, cause I saw it for a great price and I didn't want to search and wait for a NEA lower in the future if it didn't fit.
Sure I spent more money than I wanted to, but on the plus side: the lower has a fde stock to match my magpul buis and also: another AR!!

it's ridiculous. In this caliber it's going to be a mini detonation every trigger pull. I hope it runs 100%, but only time will tell. At this moment though, I couldn't be happier

Got the upper from sfrc with 2 xcr pistol mags for around $800 after tax & ship to here in bc. I got one of the last 2 right before the 10% off sale! They sold the other one too, so I don't know if one would've been available when they had the sale. Sucks that I missed the sale though! Just days before!

Will be curious to hear about the recoil. :)

I've shot a vz58 & xcr micro with barrels as short as this. Huge blasts, but controllability was still very manageable. They had effective comps though, so I'm curious about this one attached as well. I may try different comps in the future. I believe any 7.62, 30 caliber one will fit? It's what I heard, but would do my research before forking out cash.

Just got back from the range to test out the 7.5 NEA upper. It performed like a champ.
I only shot 40 rounds of 7.62x39. Barnaul worked the best. Dominion had many light primer strikes (shot 2nd time through the gun, but really really don't enjoy doing that).
Shot through iron sights at 25 yards and shot clay pigeons without any problems.

The magazine that came with the upper might need a new follower though. It's good construction, 10 round, but very tight and the follower is not anti-tilt, so no we can't have that.

Shooting this was a treat. 7.62x39 through such a short barrel has a nice bark to it. I didn't find it very blasty. I was told it was loud, but I didn't notice as much. I've shot louder

I can smell the burnt gunpowder from here... Good for you man, sounds like an awesome time!

Hah. I have the same upper, and had to buy a linear comp from SJ because the concussion was too much for me lol. I had a headache after 50 or so shots.

Careful replacing that follower mate. Some of the anti tilt ones will feed your x39 rounds too flat. Best bet is just getting dedicated 762 mags. If anything your want that follower tilting the rounds nose up.

Hi, I am really interesting for this item. It look great. I plan to get one. Can you tell me how its perform at the range.
Any feeding problem on steel casing?
The rim of bolt face is thick enough?

Thank you.

Raymond

Dominion had many light primer strikes

The hammer spring that comes with Norinco's is pretty weak. Adding an extra power hammer spring from Wolff will solve this problem (ask me how I know).

It's a great upper. I am a fan a short rifles, so having a AR (my favorite rifle platform) of this size in the 7.62x39 caliber is a dream come true. The size and weight combined with the magpul handstop grip, it feels great - very maneuverable; points quick & with full control.

The bolt & feedramp is modified for the larger round.

First time out with the upper I had a norinco lower on it. Yes it had a couple light primer strikes. The norinco has never had a issue with 5.56 ammo, so all is fine & dandy cause it's back to shooting 5.56. I got a NEA lower with a ridiculously tough trigger, so no light primer strikes with dominion or barnaul ammo. I am replacing the trigger with a ALG combat trigger from our friends at Arms East. It believe it is going to be a winner

I was considering taking off the muzzle comp & putting a thread protector on it. It would throw a wall of fire out the end, which could be interesting?
