Say Hello to my little friend.. Mr NEA 7.5 in 7.62x39!

I have a NEA gen2 "pistol" stripped lower on hand long time ago. Right now I am think to built it (thanks for the C-42). The PDW style is look really ###y!
Also some question,
How to ID the upper is gen1 or gen2 ?
Which mag is best for this?
The 308 muzzle device can let the 310 bullet go though?

Thanks again.

Raymond

neat!

to answer your questions: the gen 2 rifles are black. The first ones were grey.
Any 7.62x39 AR mags should work in it. Try the Lar 15 pistol mags
The .30 thread (5/8 -24) will fit 7.62x39 and .308

NICE!! Are they loud? Just curious. Any miss-feeds/stovepipes cause the gas system is so short?

it's fairly loud, but the "neutral flash hider" (from NEA - can be seen on Canada ammo's site) is attached on it at the moment. It is effective at reducing the potential fire-ball-detonation. My 10.5 in 5.56 might be louder actually. My 10.5 definitely has more muzzle blast. I wish to make the 7.5 throw fireballs, but I also like shooting without having to warn the shooters next to me that I'm about to set this thing off! I'm alright with it being the way it is, for now. I might change out the comp for a different brake or have no comp at all (which I predict will be louder and with more blast... too much? "hmm").

Not a single ftf or fte. (except mentioned before: the supplied mag did not have a anti-tilt follower, so it didn't work well at all. Every other mag works a 100% now)

Also thinking the s&j products. But I saw some very negative comments on this store. I am a little bit concerned.

If you really did your homework, I'd be more concerned with NEA products than worry about about S&J. Get back to us after a couple of thousand rounds.

Ray3377 is a little worried about a customer service, issue that was posted on a US website but in 2009...
Things have changed a lot since then.
Other then the quality of our product, those have always been good")

Dealing with some US clients can be extream, many of they have no idea about how anything works outside of the USA. Not saying all of them, just saying that many are not well informed on many topics. and get very angry, very quick.
When you send voice mails with things like your f**ing dumba$$ , I,m going to drive up to Canada and kill you.
We just stop all coms.
When ell a person that want to return an item a DO NOT SEND IT BACK BACK BY USP! or return it and we will refund you and you shipping, and the person sends it fed ex COD.
its hard to deal with and the results and outcome are never good.
Do we make mistakes, sure we do.
we have worked very hard to improve things at S&J, which includes getting a dealer net work up and running, this aides in making our clients happy and we hope with less delay.

Great little rifle!!!

Not sure if you addressed you light primer strike issue, this should help:

http://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts/triggers-parts/hammer-parts/hammer-springs/ar-15-m16-extra-power-hammer-spring-prod19916.aspx

I believe you can even use that spring with a competition trigger such as the Geissele.
I had the same issue with the Hiperfire trigger. Had to order their 762 spring kit.

Some guy at the range opted for the do it yourself version:
Last resort way of dealing with that issue is to shave of a little (.000) at the base of you firing pin and/or the back of your bolt.
