As for the brake, the barrel is way to short to run a ported brake...it's just really too loud for me and the kids. I prefer to run a blow-forward type compensator like the Dlask as it still helps with muzzle rise and slightly helps the noise issues associated with a 9-12" barrel. You can see a picture of the Dlask linear compensator installed on the Tac-Hammer barrel in the bottom pic.
This is great info for me; I'm not putting together a backpacker (mine's far too heavy and not a TD), but I was looking at picking up the Tac-Hammer barrel because of its length and the fact that it includes the compensator. I'm sure it wouldn't be terrible at the range with ear protection on, but there's no need to make it louder than necessary.
Also, I saw your video with the 9" Dlask barrel; I'm aiming for something around the same length, so it's good to know that they'll still shoot reasonably out to 100m (even though my local range only goes to 15m, IIRC).
Finally, those stocks are just packed with features, and they look great to boot. I know what I'll be doing if I ever end up getting a TD.
Great looking rifles (you and everyone else that posted here). Gives me hope that mine might actually turn out decent as well.
