Scar 16s & 17s

from what I read I think here somewhere tho I am not sure that was done properly, FNH never submitted a SCAR to the RCMP lab, it was a movie prop guy that did or something like that. There is a possibility that what he submitted was in fact a FA SCAR with a semi trigger pack, so the SCAR was deemed to be easy to convert to full auto by a simple change of trigger pack. From what I understand this cannot be done with a semi, but don't quote me here... anyway they'll never take a second look, so who cares really.

Has anyone actually taken the time to verify whether or not the lab has actually received a semi auto scar for classification?

Or are we just going to keep assuming things and deny ourselves a potential gun?

I ask because every time some one else asks, the movie gun theory comes up.

The scar was submitted by Questar from my understanding. They deemed them prohib cause it could be converted to full auto if you have the machinery . I heard Questar sold them to a movie prop company.

Well won't that be a royal fu*kup if it was a mistake. The 10" SRB barrels at Brownells are about $1000, and are sweet. The SCAR with the 10" barrel is awesome!!

A few years ago the Canadian FN distributer told me that they had zero interest in the commercial market/ their LE customers did not want civilian sales and were leaning on them.
I told him he was a female dog and have zero reason to believe that the classification is correctly researched.
