I know it's been a year that's what I'm saying...
Welcome to the "new" normal, apparently.
I know it's been a year that's what I'm saying...
It doesn't take that long to get a FRT....
...or apparently years. That's the reality.
Let's hope this is the exception that doesn't become the rule!
So, If they cant get the SCAR to go full auto and are looking at having to register it as restricted or Non restricted based on the barrel length alone; But they are some how able to get the ISSC Scar/knockoff to go full auto; will they be able to Prohib the Real Scar because it looks like the ISSC copy?
Maybe I should have clarified... It's January 1, and those of us who pre-ordered a SCAR over a year ago (and paid in full several months ago) are still waiting for an FRT so it can be transferred to us. I understand a Canadian version of the ACR will be available through Saskatoon GunWorks.
I am on the list, and have money down as well. I am "us". It is just not productive to fire at Mark IMO. Especially in an unproductive fashion. I think the reality of the situation, and potential ways forward is clear to most of 'us".
And yes, I completely understand about the ACR "coming in", and though I am glad to see it potentially on the Canadian market, it is neither the Masada, nor a well tested field firearm.
Frankly it's becoming more and more the "norm" and not the exception. Everything is being examined closely and anything that in any way might be argued or open to interpretation is being put through the grinder and the time delays are just getting longer and longer.
If you heard some of the "suggestions" that have been making the rounds about proposed changes to the way guns are imported (commercially) you'd see that this is going to get worse, not better. Some "ideas" that were being discussed by Ontario's CFO/CBSA/CFC/RCMP can only drive up import costs and increase time delays throughout the entire process.
If the RCMP have reason to believe that the SCAR16s is for some reason a Prohibited Firearm under the legislation then they should declare that ruling and articulate the basis for those findings... otherwise stop screwing around.
OK. My apologies then. Hard to interpret intent behind keyboards.
Race you to 1000 rnds when we get them?
Want to help make sure that this 'new normal' doesn't stay the norm? Help the NFA fight the RCMP's unilateral reclassification of firearms by donating to the T-97 Legal Defence Fund. This is the one that started the ball rolling when it comes to the recent spate of RCMP 'reviews' of legal firearms and their foot dragging on a host of others.
There is an obvious anti-firearm institutional bias within the RCMP and our current Justice Minister isn't exactly the best friend gun owners have had, so the courts are our best shot at opposing what amounts to an RCMP undercover jihad against semi-auto military-style sporting rifles.
