Hi, I've looked through numerous pages in this section and have found only one article that pertains anything schmidt and bender.
I'm looking to get into long range shooting, on an m14 platform, and am currently considering the PM ll.
Price isn't an issue so long as the quality accompanies it.

Does anyone have experience with this scope, or brand, and could you shed some light on your experience with such.

Thanks.

Its hard to believe you are serious. S&B is likely one of the very best scopes on the market. The clarity of the glass, is as good as glass gets, the ruggedness of the scope is as good as it gets. They have been the standard scope for individuals who's life absolutely depends on their scope working, under the most extreme conditions known to man. If prices is no issue, its hard to know why you don't own one by now. They are that good. One things is for sure, quality is not an issue with S&B, for most people its not the quality that is the issue its the price.

NF has crept in on S&B's territory, not because the glass is clearer, but because the scope is as rugged, for less money.

You just are not going to find a better product.

I currently have 3, 5-25x56 , but have owned 5. In my opinion they are the gold standard of scopes. Glass is unmatched (to my eyes) perfect tracking , repeatable and accurate adjustments . Yes they are pricy but worth every cent ! If you have any specific questions just let me know and I will do my best to answer them.

The only problem is once you own one , every thing else is like being poked in the eye with a sharp stick

I agree with ultimate monkey, they are addictive... JP.

Schmidt and Bender scopes are indeed the benchmark by which all other scopes are measured. While I only own one(PMII 5-25), I prefer the Premier Reticles over S&B. This is of course a personal preference but I stand by it.

Don't believe S&B scopes are completely trouble free though, yes they have had quality issues too. Maybe the best scope ever made though was the S&B 4-16 double turn turret scope.
While they are expensive, consider it money well spent.

They are charging to much from what I have seen lately when Kahles, Hensoldt, leopold and others are out there to choose from! But I love S&B...

Yes they are expensive but Leopold aren't even in the same league, kahles are good but don't compare and Hensoldt are up there
with S&B in both performance and price.

All of the premier scope manufacturers are charging too much as far as I'm concerned but if you want the best, you have to pay a premium.

heres the deal, SB is the gold standard, (yes every ones eyes are different for how they will see threw the glass coatings..) but as a whole, they are the best. our cdn$ is dropping, and SB had to increase price as the price of the chemicals they use to threat the glass went up last year IIRC, and we , as the end users are the ones that it falls on.. sure it sucks that prices went up, but thats not going to stop me from buying them

There is nothing in the market at the moment that can Compare to the S&B glass, not even the new NF scopes, the main reason that the price of S&B went up is because of inflation, kind of driving everything up, I would agree that even if the price went up, I would still get S&B. the only one scope that are comparable to the S&B is the new Hensoldt cost twice that of S&B, at around 6999 USD.

JP, I hate you, that an impressive line up lol. I am currently wrestling over an SB or a NF. Can't decide, it's like do you want this Ferrari, or this Lamborghini.....

I use to own a NF NXS 5.5-22X50, once Try out with the S&B 5-25X56, I sold the NF and never look back.

Really? The NF Beast, Gen 2 Kahles, Premier/Tanget-Theta can't even 'compare' to a S&B?

There is no discernable difference in the glass quality if you put a Premier next to an S&B. I'd consider a 5-25x56 S&B if I could find one with CCW turrets and a Gen2 XR reticle in it. Not a fan of the tunnelling at lower power, but I could live with it.

What happened to all the sightrons ?

Since i got my major eyes surgery for severe astigmatisim, i can now use FFP and crowded reticles, my Sightrons are keeper for other occasion, just pulled out my S&B's from the safe and bought 4 more... Sightron's are great for their target dot ( could not use their other reticles), in my case at the time the only one i could use without extensive eye fatigue... JP.
