Schmidt & Bender repairs

Beginning 90's. S&B changed the engraving on the scopes from "West Germany" to just "Germany".
edi

ps. to be sure just e-mail the serial number to S&B and ask for date of manufacturing.

that company never offered lifetime in canada or europe.

Never said they did.

Boltgun said "all of a sudden, Leupold, vortex and burris's warranties become a little more flavourful."
I literally agreed word for word on all three brands.

Feeling like that got missed somewhere along the line...

Did Burris and Vortex offer "Lifetime/VIP" warranty in 1957 ? While S&B had a 10 years warranty in place ?

Vortex wasn't founded until 1986 and Burris not until 1971. What was the warranty deal then ?

But I agree, I used the warranty on both after 1-2 years of use. For Loophole I needed it for a scope right out of the box. Real quality stuff !

Have S&B and Zeiss optics for over 30 years. No problems whatsoever...

Did Leupold honor the warranty?

Worst warranty service ever experienced.

The original pristine loophole box in which I sent it back within a shipping box ! was returned dented and abused while their return shipping box was just fine. I wonder what happened at the service point.

It came back with some scribbled "servicing report" which was unreadable to me and others who looked at it.

They lost 3 customers that day - never again !

Burris and Vortex service was good.

Been using leupold for over 35 years and never ever had a problem, except for one scope where the “crosshair”(German #1) was getting g blurry after a shot at max magnification and needed to go back to minimum magnification and back up to make it sharp again, didn’t affect accuracy, but I sent it back to kort group and service was excellent, fast and free.
Never had a problem with older bushnell 3200 4200 and 6500.
I have a pair of vortex binoculars needed to go back for warranty after a few years of gentle use, service was ok and it was also free.
I have no problem buying leupold optics.

I don’t care if it was made “back in 72”

Lifetime is lifetime.

i got some strange services from korth and leupold in oregon sometimes very good sometimes not that good.

i did have to replace nikon binoculars after almost 15 years of good service. they were given as a gift by a custome when i guided so no receipt and luckily Travis from here steps in and i received two brand new monarch 5 and like new never a problem with a bushnell elite except my german 4 2.5-10x50 but it was fixed by the best and perfect guy of trace as bushnell do not do warranty anymore and replace mostly by chinese scopes. doesnt mean they are not good but not as reliable as the LOW bushnell elite for sure.

They are especially nice crapping out during a hunt .Great stuff ! But hey you can always chopper it out to your preferred purveyor.
Well fingers crossed in 30 years of hunting up here in sometimes pretty harsh conditions and rarely close to the truck and up to about 10 days in the bush and never had an issue. But I’m sure it’s pure luck and that at some point in my life they will all crap out on me at the same time. Until then I will continue to use loophold, better than the other options out there. I’m not a fan of scopes that weight 2 lbs, that have large/tall exposed turrets, that have tubes that are 30mm or bigger or reticles that looks like xmas 🎄. I can’t afford swaro, leica or zeiss so loophold it is!
