Yugoslav M59/66. Very cool but heavy as a Garand and less balanced since most of that 9.2 lbs is up front. But cool lookin gun all the same

The Yugos are non chrome lined and have beefier stocks. The grenade launching version has a valve with which you can shut off or open the gas system. Turn off for blank firing/grenade launching. If well used it *can* be a failure point

Oddly my Chiness have shot better than the couple Yugos I've had

Is Circle 31 the Chinese ones that the 500 round cans on stripper clips came with? Never tried them. Saved the BXN ones from a crate of Czech back in the day.
 
Yeah, the BXN are Czech, I was able to buy a pack of 25 when I bought my SKS. The gun came with 3 circle 31 stripper clips (Chinese) or after market and they don’t load as nice as the BXN units, feels like there is a coating of some sort on the BXN ones that let the round slide easier when loading.

Have you shot your rifle? That brings back the history. The sound, the feel of the kick, not much recoil but man all that together, is what it’s all about. If you are collecting the SKS and all that goes with it, that’s great but make sure you get one you can shoot, you will regret not firing one.

Hey knepat
Not yet have a few things going on . I need to clean it first as well . The weather has been a real rain fest in the Lowermainland lately as well

Yeah weather, you get rain we get snow, at least you don’t have to trudge through snow on good days. Cold here and hoping for nice days to get out. Hope timing works for you, just can’t say enough how cool it is shooting these guns.

If LOP is the only change you need to make, just buy a slip-on rubber recoil absorbing pad. It's $25 on Amazon and adds just enough LOP for me.

Some aftermarket stocks make the tear down procedure much more difficult. I had one with a tactical style stock and it took so much longer to tear down, I never fired surplus ammo out of it. Non-corrosive only so I did not have to clean it after every range day.
