school me on the T97

The trigger absolutely sucks on them aswell, but with enough trigger time behind it, u get use to it I guess cus one owner I know can print sub 2 MOA 5 shot groups quite regularly with NORC .223 haha
 
No issue what so ever with mine. Carry it in my bag on snowmobile all the time as well. Installed the FTU and vortex scope and I am good to go.

Have never personally had or experienced any of the supposed issues. There are three other T97's at our club and none of them had issues either.

Take it for what its worth.... YMMV
 
My son has a tavor and he said why buy a T97 when you can use mine?

I replied bcuz it's buy low and sell high , also something about the looks of the tavor i don't fancy.
 
I have a 14### and it would not fit any mag except the factory until I spent 10 minutes filing the mag well just enough to allow my LAR mags to fit. Now it runs like a champ and even my Beta 5/100 mag feeds with no issues. Elanders and magpuls are my go tos.
 
D&H mags work fantastic in my early 13xx T97. They are my go to mag since they work in everything. Other mags don't drop free, get stuck etc. Also, no issues with mine and I didn't see any signs of a drill hole in the barrel from the gas port. Overall a fun plinker.
 
I have two type 97's. One is an early version and the other is fully kites out by type 97.ca. The early one is much more accurate than the fully dressed one as it can shoot 1.5 moa if I do my part, the other shoots minute of yote. For magizines I find most work well and drop free but I guess I just got lucky. I have posted pics and videos on here before with the proof of how these little rifles work. The infantry school in gagetown just got 10 of these that were first imported as prohibited and too also work very well.

It would be neat if the round fell out but no, mine doesn't cuz the opening is too narrow.

And bcuz of the opening on the side, the follower gets hung up, what a dumb idea.

I have a couple mags Canada ammo sold with slots in the side but none of the 3 T97 I had had any of that.
 
Thanks for all the info. The reason I ask is I came across one in very nice condition with some nice glass and accessories for what you guys tell me is a very good price. So I'm off to buy it.
 
My experience with a 14### T97 was quite awful at first, FTF every 3 or 4 rounds on a GI mag, but after filing the feed ramp (follow the instruction on YouTube), it's working great now!
