I know I know.............terrible choice for a topic. But hey it got your attention.
Anyway........my daughter ( Trinity Angel here) is a budding IPSCer and was talking it up at school.
She mentioned to a teacher that a Catholic Shoot in Michigan had held a match and the nuns and students had helped patch and with stats.
He said it sounded like a great idea...................Which shocked the hell out of me.
Soooooooooo I got thinking that the Annual Feb Level II match might not be a bad match to try this concept on. The drama department is trying to raise $2K for new lighting equipment.
Our last L2 in February had 74 shooters..........
If we charge $30 per shooter with $3 going to IPSC we would have $27 left over. Say $5 per shooter for EESA to pay for heat and targets etc and you have $22.
If we had 75 shooters that would be over $1600 for the school. If I use the same squad times as the Three gun match I would be able to have a maximum of 120 shooters or even more!! Which means we could concievably buy the whole shebang for the kids!
Of course this would play VERY well with the local media.
I have not approched the EESA BOD about the idea as I am still toying with it. It all comes down to the numbers I guess. Do you guys think we could get 75 or 100 shooters out to such an event in February??? Hell I could even host in earlier if I had some help with stage design.
