Scope and Rail Installation: Should a Professional do it?

No, the rings came with the scope. I'll see if it fits better upside down, however I highly doubt that's the issue.

Please recommend me a pair of new rings and a link to where I can purchase them.

These are the most common rings, and you'll find them in stock at any store that sells scopes. Or look on line. Traditions makes a good pair of rings, Weaver, try Marstar for some of the chinese ones which (in my experince) have been just fine. Ring hieght is something you'll need to pick. Medium hieght works good for most 32mm scopes when a rear open sight is on the barrel, but some situations will need a high set of rings. Check the net for how to measure for scope ring hieght. Also, don't worry or get discourage if you buy a set of rings that don't work because of the hieght. We all have done this, time over time, and you'll find over the years that "extra" scope rings have a way of finding themselves sitting in a box waiting for a rifle one day.

Thanks for the help everyone.
I ended up going to a local hunting store and picking up some Weaver rings. They cost more some other places that carried it, but the owners of the store were pretty helpful so I ended up getting them. Installation with these new rings went much smoother, although I did carelessly end up making two-three scratches on the scope in haste. Since it is a cheap scope, I dont really care. What can I put over the scratches to prevent rusting?

Heres the end result.

Scope is aluminum and rust is not an issue. You can minimize the appearance of the scratches with a black permanent marker, like a Sharpie brand.
