scope caps

I find with my Butler Creeks, with a bit of practice I can bring the gun up and flip the covers at the same time. Position the covers correctly and you will see for yourself, and the scope is always free of any snow, debris or whatever. I think where this falls apart for most people is you have to actually practice with your rifles.

I did not want to post before I received my item I ordered at alixpress. Pleasantly surprised, nice rubber and nice clear flip up lens, works and fits perfectly. Paid US$ 2.76 for just one 30mm cover delivered and will order more. Took about 4 weeks.

neoprene cover will save your scope from water or snow.

100 % correct.

Depends what you are using it for. I have some high end covers and honestly, I don't like them since closing them requires a tight fit, which is a PITA. A very much prefer the Butler Creek covers but they are way too expensive for what they are.

Butler creeks are garbage. I use a neoprene scope cover now. It comes off in seconds. You can buy Leupold branded ones for $30 or you can buy a camo one by Allen at Canadian tire for $15. The Leupold covers a bit better but the Allen works well enough!

Buy TAENEBREX and be done. Theyre even available in clear so no need to pop open if not needed. Theres a reason theyre used by the military and nightforce. PLUS they are CANADIAN and guaranteed forever. They are awesome.

Aadmount, MK Machining, Tenebraex, Swaro makes their own caps which seem nice but very expensive. I have some butler creeks on one scope that I had laying around and happened to fit... I wouldn't buy them these days tho.

I have 2 sets of Butler Creeks, and had to use electrical tape on them to keep from partially pulling off every time I wanted to pop them open. I've read of people using hairspray to make them stick in place, but I don't have any hair anymore LMAO.
I run Tenebraex on my better quality scopes, and really like them. They'll be my go-to going forward.

Does anyone have a preferred online retailer?

This is what I use too. My scope is mounted too low for the factory bikini cover to fit (front end hits the barrel) so I bought a neoprene one for like $20. I suspect flip caps would have the same issue as the bikini cover on my setup, so I haven't tried them.

I’ve tried them all, Leupold are the only ones I consider spending money on, buy once cry once,
You activate as your raising your rifle and it becomes second nature, no time lost
I’ll only buy Leupold scopes now because of this,
The Leupold scope is a generational investment, throw the caps on it and pass it down to your grandkids,
