Scope for under $1000 with lifetime warrenty

A vortex HS-T 6-24×50 would fit the OPs request. Great no fault lifetime warranty, Awesome turrets for target shooting, side focus. Plenty of magnification, I can see my 223 holes at 300yds. All this for under 1k. I also have a PST but new they are over the budget.

Vortex replaced this, no questions asked. I think they earned my +1 :)

I own a Bushnell too, but haven't had to replace it so I can't speak to their service.

Drop your rifle on the scope?

No, Nikon says we will ask you for your receipt to expedite the process. However in the event that you don't have it we will do a serial number lookup to ensure it is a Canadian product. After that our standard lifetime warranty and no fault policy go into place. As I'm sure most CGN'ers have noticed since we launched our full hunting division in 2013 there have been little to no warranty issues with or without receipts in the Canadian marketplace.

However I would encourage the OP and most other posters to ask yourselves something; if you purchased a car and it broke down three times in a matter of a couple years but the dealer fixed it every time, would you buy that car again? Wouldn't it be more prudent to buy a product you don't have to worry about? Spend time getting it repaired?

Warranty's are a fact of life in the optics world, however pretty much all the major companies (Nikon, Vortex, Leupold, Bushnell, Burriss) all feature essentially the exact same warranty now. I'd rather see a post that says "Who has the most reliable gear, even if I'm a little tough on my stuff?" which some guys are. For me that's a better investment of my hard earned dollars and peace of mind when that once in a lifetime animal appears on the horizon. I worry about how terrible of a shot I am instead of whether or not my optic will fail or is in the shop for the 2nd, 3rd, 7th time...

(Happy to answer any and all questions about our warranty process here or via DM) :)

Ok good to know. This is what the Nikon website says though. "No registration or “warranty” card is needed with these products; simply retain your original dated proof-of-purchase in case warranty service is needed."

If it what you say it is then the site should be changed as that would be in your favour to do so. I for one stopped looking at at Nikon simply because of that fact to be honest. Thought, why would i bother when Leupold and Vortex dont need a receipt? But i will look at Nikon again if what you said if accurate

Honestly I haven't really seen or heard from anyone on this site that had a defective one. the only complaint I have is the m233 laser the mount looks like it belongs on an air rifle, the demo I got came with a broken bolt that I had to get a friend fab a new one because why put the same pos pot metal replacement back in there to only break again. They discontinued that model. It's super cool but they should have put a little better engineering in the Integrated mount. It's an odd shape you cannot use rings with it or I would have. The glass and range finder pretty good. But it's a bench queen I'd be nervous to actually use it hunting or something practical.

Thanks I'll take a look

Grawfr how you break that scope so I can learn and not do that lol damnnn

More like repetitive stress injury. :)

I used to carry the rifle on "African carry", scope facing the rear, and apparently it kept pressing and banging against the backpack's side. Not something noticeable at the time since the rifle simply felt tucked tight and secure under the arm, but over time I noticed that the eyepiece "bell" began to have a bit of play to it. You could lightly press the top of the ocular focus ring with the finger and feel the whole thing flex downward a little.

Then one day at the range, I try to adjust the focus a little and the whole bell came apart in my hand. *wince*

I learned my lesson: I now carry "Modified African", with the rifle twisted on the sling so that the scope is forward and isn't banging against anything.
