I have a winchester 30-30 can I mount a scope. If so how?

I seen on old repeater a brass tube..I believe it was a peep sight of type...

does any know to get one for my 30-30?

I put a scout mount on my model 94 top eject. The scope sits in front of the action. You need an intermediate eye relief scope to go with it. Bushnell, Burris and Leupold make some.

See the mount here:

Depends on the model of Win 94. Some are made to take a side mount scope mount. The screw holes are usually there already on later model 94's. Earlier models will require drilling and tapping. Some eject to the side and can take a top mounted scope.
Peep sights can be had from William's Gun sights, et al. They can be mounted on the receiver or on the tang.

not to be a party pooper but this really should be moved to the optics forum not in the long range precision competition forums.

That's the one I mounted on my model 94 angle eject. It was ok, but a 30-30 just isn't a long range precission gun. I know, I know. Somebody is going to jump up and make the claim that they killed a deer at 2 miles with theirs. Whatever. I've done a LOT of experimenting with this rifle. They're the greatest little dense bush guns in the world, but shooting 1/2" groups at 100 yards isn't going to hapen. Sorry, the gun just isn't designed for that.

If you're like me, the back sight is starting to become a blur, and shooting open sights is getting to be a bit of a pain. Buy yourself a Williams peep sight for the back of the receiver and put the highest Williams Firesight you can get on the front. I think it's 0.570" high. My factory front sight wasn't high enough to work with the rear peep. I think the "Super duper" peep sight cost me just under $100 with tax, and the front "Firesight" was $25. The scope is in the drawer now.
My 2c.

I was out today to Selkirk G.& F. I took a few of my winnies and shot them for the first time. I had along with me the 1964 m94 winnie 30-30 with the 4x side mount scope. At 100 yards, it performed as it should and it takes the guess work out of where to hit the prey, you can actually see it.. Open sights at 100 can be frustrating if one has glasses or poor vision ( and does not want to admit it).. thus a visual aid is one's own preference and I will not put down what one uses over the other...what ever fits......the end result is wanting a well placed shot and a short ending to a hunt.
