i have an issue.

redfield reveltion

called to talk to them about warrenty and he told my problem isn't possible.

the story

rings are leupold

when i adjust height it doesn't move acorddingly.

first shot 10 inch low at 100 yard move it up 10 moa

2 shot. 7 inch low move up 10 moa

3 shot . 5 inchs low move up 4 moa no adjustment left

4 shot 3 inchs low.

this was the second time i mounted this scope first time it was the opposite. high dailing down

the tech claims its aleigment windage. i think he is on crack.

whats your thoughts?

puttting my leupold rifleman on to take up the void in the mounts

I'm just guessing, but the choice of words used may have confused the Redfield tech. I thought you were talking about windage. You might give Redfield another try.

You didn't give any specifics as to make/model of gun, bases or rings so it's tough to give you specific help.

~ Make sure the bases are correct.
~ Make sure the rings are correct.
~ Don't let the scope touch the barrel.
~ Don't let the scope cover touch the barrel.

im by no means stupid when it comes to guns.. i mount and service all my family's guns. i have never seen a scope behave like this ..EVER.

savage 116 weather warrior. leupold rings.

my point is basically is... dailed up 25moa and it moves about 6 inchs???

its not possible they put a 1/8 adjustment in it is??

Front base too low?
Pull all the upper stuff off and put a dowel of
appropiate size in the bottom rings.
Does the dowel sit parallel to the barrel?
This is an easy test.

Please don't think I was disrespecting you, I wasn't.

If you dialed up 25moa, the crosshairs should move 25moa. If you dialed up 25 clicks, then you moved the crosshairs 25 clicks. If the clicks are ¼", then your crosshairs should move 6.25".

If the ring caps get torqued unevenly and to much it can induce weird stress on the scope causing the adjustments to be off . If Te scope is still mounted give the elevation knob a quick few raps with somthing hard but not damaging , rubber screw driver handle or Te likes . Then shoot again and see if your POI has changed

Torque the rings to 15 in-lbs and try again.

If the windage is fairly off mechanical center, the reticle may not track with your adjustment inputs in elevation.

It is quite clear that your talking about elevation. I cannot understand why the tech or the other poster would confuse your statements with windage.
It sounds like you have a scope problem. I have had scopes that were adjusted to their extremes on windage. They still tracked up and down. Maybe not as far as if they were centred on windage. But 5 MOA up still moved them around 5 MOA up for example.
