Score!!! UPDATE! 260 is finished

Lots of great suggestions, but a few I already have (22-250, .243, 250 Sav).

I'm pretty firm on the .260 and .358. Should be a couple of dandy little SS lefties.

I can't believe I'm about to type this, but the boring old .308 has been creeping into my mind...I don't like boring...someone please convince me otherwise:slap:

I can't convince you otherwise... I think it is the best option with a .260 and .358 on either side.

I didn't even thing they made short action stainless lefties. I knew the long action stainless versions were not common, but short action - those are indeed unicorns. Congrats on the find.

I'm still in shock. Never in my life have I ever come across a lh SA Remington 700 rifle or action in stainless, and believe me I have searched. I found out about these 3 while inquiring about a Stiller lh action. I had to ask several times if I was hearing properly, that they were in fact lh, SA and SS. Even had a second employee confirm what they were over the phone...then very quickly gave up my credit card info lol.

25 Souper, 7mm-08 Rem, 358 Win.
Or use the 284 case for all of these calibres.

I was actually reading up on the .25-08 last night. Interesting cartridge, essentially a 257 Roberts in a shorter, much more common case. I imagine a die set would be pretty costly to source, although I do have a .257" barrel on the shelf...

You'll be the 2nd custom rem 300sav here if you do it. I'm the only other. Kills like lightning with 130ttsx.

Are you going to build and sell or keep?

Keep. If I ever get bored with my choices, I'll simply rebarrel. These 3 unicorns will in all likelihood be with me for life.

I read your thread a month or two back and was/am intrigued. Being a big TTSX fan, I like the idea of the 130 in the 300. I'm also interested in trying out the 110.

I have 2 lh B&C stocks on the way from Prophet River. Once they arrive, one action, stock, barrel and bottom metal assembly will be packed up and shipped off to Guntech to become a .260 Rem sporter hunting rifle:cool:

Well, the 260 Rem is finished and on the way home from Guntech's shop. He advises that the rifle weighs about 7.25 lbs so I'm pretty happy with that. Will put some unicorn pics up when she arrives and I manage to stop fondling her...

Nice... post some target pics too.
