How is the EM332A compared to the Savage Mark II? I'm looking into buying a bolt-action .22 lr rifle as my first gun and want to keep the cost down as much as possible. From what I've read though the Mark II has much better aftermarket support and better ergonomic design overall.
Having had the MkII, both will/may need some TLC to get operating well. The MKII mags can be a problem... EM mags tend to be much better made
Both can have ejection issues. Both can be rough to operate out of the box. The 332A trigger is far easier to modify for a great pull.
I have not bothered to look into aftermarket for the 332A as the included stock works so well. Again, with some basic mods, I end up with something that I use very competitively in rimfire PRS. I haven't tried but this is an Annie 54 action so it might fit into current chassis and stocks?????

Saying that, an annie 54 scope rail will fit with some slight mods to the grooves in the base. The new 332X comes with a nice rail.
Bolt handles for MKII and 332A should be modified if you want better operation.. although MKII does come in a more tactical set up now. The 332X has a nice bolt handle.
Of the many 332A's we have shot, they can be super accurate with SK/Lapua ammo... and seem to work better at very extended distances. A tuner can be a big help but that applies to all rimfires.
If you want plug and play, neither rifle is for you. But if you are ok with basic tuning and updates, both can work really well. If you have plans to change the barrel, neither mkii or 332A is for you. The 332X has an action that could make barrel swaps simple... but there are no barrels right now.
What I would love to see is the 332X action with the 332A barrel, longer length and threaded muzzle (some do, some dont). QC on the 332X seems to be much better overal (maybe the new 332As share similar specs?????)
No simple answers as the Scorpios can change from run to run. Savage MkIIs have solid reputation for being accurate but can be plagued with running issues (simple to fix but you still have to fix them)
with all the above said, I am running the Scorpio rifles now and don't own any MkIIs.
If you are interested in a prepped EM332A, send me a pm or email as I have one available.
