Not a CZ clone. Here's a description from Hunting Gear Guy's review,

The Scorpio EM332A is a Chinese manufactured, bolt action 22LR. The action itself is based on the Anschutz 54, so accuracy could potentially be very good. In fact, the 322 action is the same as that on the Norinco NS522 that I saw amazing accuracy out of. So, is the Scorpio EM332A a great way to get amazing accuracy out of an inexpensive bolt action 22? And is it more accurate than the favorite value priced bolt action 22LR, the Savage MkII?

Was just looking for a Norinco JW15-13". This could be a close contender I guess - unless anyone knows where to get one of those? Seems like I missed the boat by a decade.

I don't agree with hunting gear guy's take that it's a 54 clone. The bolt is partially cocked on open and completed on close so the inner workings of the bolt are completely different. Also the 2nd locking lug opposite of the bolt handle doesn't actually make any contact on mine. It's just there for show.

Nothing wrong with a single locking lug (bolt handle) on a 22 though, savage Mk IIs have one and they're plenty accurate.

What is it most closely related to in your opinion if not an exact clone? To be fair to HGG's review he says it's based on the 54's action and does not say it's a clone.

Honestly I think its different enough from everything I've tried to say it's really based on anything in particular.
The bolt/locking lug design is similar to the 54 looks-wise (but not function), the firing pin cocking mechanism is closer to the vintage Walther KK series, the receiver is nice and thick for a .22, and the trigger is quite light but creepy.

It looks like an improved version of the original Scorpio EM.
The oversized bolt is a nice touch and so is the pic rail...both of those were absent on the original version.

Not so sure about the 13in barrel though.
The 22lr is already somewhat anemic out of a regular sized barrel as it is.

I'm kind of assuming, that there will be some further loss of velocity and possibly accuracy out of the 13 in.
I could be wrong of course, as I'm not too familiar with the ballistic intricacies of a 22lr.

22lr velocity doesn't change much between like 12 and 18" barrels. Also barrel length isn't particularly relevant to accuracy - it helps if you've got iron sights due to the increased sight radius, but if you're using an optic it's not a big factor.

NS why don't you post MSRP anymore? It's really frustrating...

Does anyone know what the LOP is like on the earlier Scorpios with the longer barrel? Is it full size, or a bit smaller like the Savage mk2?
