At first look . nice little rifle, but honestly NS522 is far better...

Just a little info,

-Mag doesn't work in the ns522, maybe with modification? don' t know..
-Stock , feel cheap but ok .
-Same kind of action.
-Action tight
-Trigger is nice
-Standard barrel

I'm interested in hearing how these rifles shoot, especially if a good selection of ammo is tested out. If the results are good, I could be tempted...in spite of those iron sights. :)

Yes would like to see the stock off the reciever and the trigger too! The sights can be removed/replaced etc. I really want to see if it is accurate and if the stocks can be swapped!

Mags fit fine in my NS522..... exact same mag catch, if it doesn't fit it's just the hole is off a bit and needs to be squared up.
Bolt handle is not user friendly on the Scorpio...I see an extension knob being added on pretty soon.

That's good news, how's the stock? And the trigger assembly?

I'll get her apart tonight for a better look at the guts....
Stock is OK, LOP is a bit longer then I expected, it's hard plastic with a wide forend and super narrow butt, down to an inch in some spots, makes it front heavy, bit low in the comb for irons, but they are pretty high irons. Irons are attached with some kind of split nut....going to be tricky to remove looks like this...

Couple pics, bolt handle I don't like, too short and stubby with an ugly grind for no reason, can't get under the knob when it's down... stock needs a divot or something, or extended knob.

Crooked rear sight as expected lol

Must be the way they assemble them, the manual you posted shows they have an adjustment screw!

Yes, sight is adjustable, but I imagine they zeroed it at the highschool shop class and that's where it ended up lol.
Couple more observations...
Magwell is plastic compared to the metal NS522.
Trigger is same design as the NS522 so easy to tune.
Exterior finish is excellent! Not Nork excellent but truly a nice clean high polish blue that is finally up to acceptable standards. Interior is much better too, not great but finished with a semi sharp tool and not a beaver or a chisel.
The preservation oil makes my hands numb....wear gloves when cleaning it, gawd knows what kind of unregulated chemicals they used on it....

Interesting, do you still think they could swap without much trouble? Odd question but, do the 522 mags fit the 332? Great that the finish is good, I suppose coming from that factory they have upped their game!

Yes, the short 5 round mags fit in these just fine.
Stock swap should be very easy, the barrel is free floated to the end of the stock, then it narrows to a pressure point right at the end of the forestock. It's all hard plastic and will sand well. That said, the poorly fit chu wood on the NS522 is a better stock IMHO and I give this plastic one a meh+. It's just got poor ergonomics, the grip is not shaped right for the trigger, nothing really to use for a cheek weld with the narrow hollow butt.
I played around with it a bit tonight, rear sight comes off easy with a Phillips screw driver and allen key, then the rear sight base slides off towards the receiver off a dual dovetail cut into the barrel.... ugly as hell with it off, but you won't be able to mount a scope properly with it on there unless you use something compact or with small objective. I put a 1.5-4x20 Japanese Banner on it for now, works fine with the irons on there but I want lower rings so I'll end up remounting it. You can mount a scope very low on these...
Quite a few MIM parts too, looks like they retooled for these guns, they are definitely new production, better fit/finish with the metal compared to the older NS522.
BARREL IS HAMMER FORGED TOO.... before I forget to add that, bright and shiny and not a tool mark to be seen.
Careful with the screws....they are all soft as butter, definitely not heat treated, go slow and gently or you will strip heads quickly.
For $229 +5% gst and free shipping from Durham, it's a good deal. Buy one or 2 or your #### may fall off. These are miles ahead of the CZ clones for fit/finish/smoothness, and 10 round steel mags for $21 is sweet.
I'm looking forward to the stock mods folks will come up with on these to make them more user friendly. And stubby bolt handle fixes....trigger pull is excellent, but definitely needs the over travel mod which is easy to do at least.

Good info, thanks Hitzy, mine was supposed to arrive yesterday but showing out for delivery today! I will look it over, might have to order another one and a couple more mags, don't want my D! Ck to fall off although after 20 years of marriage, it mostly decoration now!
I wonder if North Sylva will bring in enough of these for Boyd's or someone to make a nice stock for them! Then again being Chinese the U.S. Won't be getting any! Either way it sounds like a good deal, hope it is accurate!

I received mine tonight, just took a quick look, not bad at all!! The stock is smaller than I thought, very light, the plastic is, well, plasticky, but for me, it fits well and with the open sights the cheek weld is perfect but I have chubby cheeks, so I will likely need a bit of a riser for optics, trigger is crisp as Hitzy said, the blueing is great, nice old school dark blueing! It aims really nice for me. I tried the mag in my 522 and it fit like a glove, actually better than in the 332???? The 5 round 522 mag has a bit more of a dip in the top front than the 10 round 332 mag but it does not look like it will make a difference! Also as Hitzy said, fit and finish is very good! I am looking forward to getting this one to the range and finding out how accurate it is!

Are they good shooters?

I suspect they will be surprisingly accurate. Very happy with the 2 NS522 I have and they are from the early 90's? Late 80's? These seem newly manufactured on new sharp tooling with hammer forged rifling, can't see them being any worse then the 522.
Won't be out this weekend, but should be able to run some RWS through it next weekend and report back.

***More playing, took the rear sight off and mounted a 4-12x40A/O Banner, rather see how well it shoots so I'll live with the messy dovetail on the barrel. With that off low rings work great with a 40mm scope.
Used a bit of 000 wool and WD40 to remove the mold lines in the grip area, was a bit irritating on the hand.
Like the stock more now with a nice low scope mounted, feels much more natural to me now. The hard plastic stock should be good for accuracy.
Still hate the bolt handle, going to try a swap with one of the NS handles tomorrow but with the hand fitting these see I'm not holding my breath that it will drop in.

Yes, the bolt, not sure what they were thinking even small hands would have a problem with it! Maybe grind the ball down a bit and drill/ tap the end to add an extension of some sort, or as you mentioned earlier create an inlet in the stock to make it easier to grab on to! I will try to get out this week to the range and try out a few different types of ammo!
