Interesting, do you still think they could swap without much trouble? Odd question but, do the 522 mags fit the 332? Great that the finish is good, I suppose coming from that factory they have upped their game!
Yes, the short 5 round mags fit in these just fine.
Stock swap should be very easy, the barrel is free floated to the end of the stock, then it narrows to a pressure point right at the end of the forestock. It's all hard plastic and will sand well. That said, the poorly fit chu wood on the NS522 is a better stock IMHO and I give this plastic one a meh+. It's just got poor ergonomics, the grip is not shaped right for the trigger, nothing really to use for a cheek weld with the narrow hollow butt.
I played around with it a bit tonight, rear sight comes off easy with a Phillips screw driver and allen key, then the rear sight base slides off towards the receiver off a dual dovetail cut into the barrel.... ugly as hell with it off, but you won't be able to mount a scope properly with it on there unless you use something compact or with small objective. I put a 1.5-4x20 Japanese Banner on it for now, works fine with the irons on there but I want lower rings so I'll end up remounting it. You can mount a scope very low on these...
Quite a few MIM parts too, looks like they retooled for these guns, they are definitely new production, better fit/finish with the metal compared to the older NS522.
BARREL IS HAMMER FORGED TOO.... before I forget to add that, bright and shiny and not a tool mark to be seen.
Careful with the screws....they are all soft as butter, definitely not heat treated, go slow and gently or you will strip heads quickly.
For $229 +5% gst and free shipping from Durham, it's a good deal. Buy one or 2 or your #### may fall off. These are miles ahead of the CZ clones for fit/finish/smoothness, and 10 round steel mags for $21 is sweet.
I'm looking forward to the stock mods folks will come up with on these to make them more user friendly. And stubby bolt handle fixes....trigger pull is excellent, but definitely needs the over travel mod which is easy to do at least.
