Scorpio EM332A mods - making a silk purse from a sow's ear

There isn't a rifle made which is consistently accurate with cheap HV ammo.
My dlask tuff 22 with dlask green mountain barrel does surprising well with the lot of Aguila HV round nose I have. Not comparing the rifle to the scorpio bc i spent alot on the build. No it's not like a center x 1 hole group but is pretty dam impressive non the less to see it always around 3/4- to 1 inch groups at 50

Just wondering if anyone has any idea of a standard style stock from any other rimfires that would fit a scorpio with minor modifications. I would love to try a different stock on mine.

Just modified the original... works great. Some wood, epoxy and bondo... paint to suit.

Wondering if anyone has tried to fit the Scorpio into a Annie 17XX or 54 inlet?

Scope rail is a modified CZ452 rail including milling for the ejection port. Unfinished cause I am going to mill some more. The action was modified to make the rail fit too.

The annie 54 rails will go on if the rail slots are modified. The curves are similar and I didn't have to touch up either the receiver top or rail bottom (unlike the CZ rail). Rail ejection port was a close fit to the action which was a huge time saver. This is the route I would go again as there is far less machining.

Either way, there is no nothing plug and play.... but then I never tried a clamp on groove receiver rail from offshore/air rifle.

The new 332X comes with a rail and it is a very nice set up except the rail is flat and there is no easy way to shim that.... so if you go with that action, use the Burris XTR sig rings and shim the scope. The 332X rail will not work on the 332A receiver

Looks great. I am looking to try to use my 332 x as a short handy hunting tool and the thumb hole stock sucks to access the saftey I also just like traditional stocks. But that does look amazing and if I ever feel like a project I'd definately consider doing what you have done.

You can still use the factory stock as the base. Just cut and trim the top of the grip and buttstock then laminate material around it. Shape and finish to your liking.

I recommend inspecting your crown if you plan to target shoot at >100m. Mine was really rough with a poor exit surface finish. (would attach images of before and after if I had permission)
Since I did the re-crowning in a lathe I also used this opportunity to thread the front of the barrel to add a brake for crown protection. Incredible accuracy...

I bought the X 13", super handy on the quad or in the suv, but takes special care at the range to keep muzzle safe and it doesn't fit the gun racks
They have great mags, so far, less trouble than my savage
Fitted a front and rear bag-rider to try and tame it some on the bench, supplied rail is solid with Burris rings for cant

I put a rail and cheek piece riser on my son's rifle, getting ready to shoot some NRL 22 matches this summer. And loaned him the Athlon scope from my 308, so I guess I won't be shooting it for a while. With the rail we'll be able to use the same bipods and stuff, and I'll be able to add some weight at the front to balance it a bit further forward. As it sits, it balances right at the back edge of the rail with the bipod attached.IMG_20250310_204011971.jpg
For anyone that has the 13" version, how do you like it? I kind of almost want one to play with, but definitely don't need another one. Maybe I'll see if I actually get a tax return this year or not.

Looks great... nice paint job. Consider adding front ballast so that it will balance without the bipod. I have a weight that can screw into the front of the forend. You can also pour lead shot into the barrel channel.

The shorty has a great action that can easily swap out barrels like the CZ457. The rail is very good but there isn't a high cant version so that is limiting unless you can machine or use the Burris XTR sig rings. As a donor action and with a friendly barrel maker, I think this could make a great base for a fully custom build but I doubt any prefit will be available.

Alot of the function issues that plagued the A version seem to have been cured in the X version.

WRT to accuracy, the longer barreled versions shot better in the samples I tested. However, with the shorter barrel, adding a long tuner like the tuna can still allows for a great handling rifle.

Good luck

Thanks. We've got some chunks of scrap brass 1/2"X2" flat bar at work that I'll make some weights from, hence the longer than needed rail. That's what I did on my rifle as well. Maybe we'll see you at the NRL match coming up in Summerland.
I didn't know the barrel attachment was different on the shorty X, interesting. It's really too bad we aren't allowed suppressors in Canada, a short, quiet, bolt action 22 would be a lot of fun. It could still be a fun toy without though, and a lot easier to pack on a quad or dirtbike in the woods. I've thought I should do a sort of Canadian biathlon, a 2-3km single track loop on the bike, then a set of targets.
