Scorpio EM332A mods - making a silk purse from a sow's ear

334m? That's seriously impressive. I've shot the original EM332 and that has a great trigger and butter knife type bolt handle. Do you know if these Scorpios are newly made or NOS? Do they have any old import markings?

Just took my Scorpio to 375m today in very high winds... will slowly work out to 500m and see what happens. Elevation becomes the real issue as drop is very high.

These look to be recent imports. Nothing unique in markings. Lots of TLC needed but our 3 are shooting very well.

Decided on a little digi camo. Reached out to 440m with excellent results.

Fun project.... now for another as a summer project and a different look and style.

Jerry

Hey Jerry-I'm sending you mine to re-work, but stock colours are fine. So really...a "another project" in the truest form. :) In all seriousness, I'll be reading this whole thread beginning-to-end. I held one of these rifles when they first came out, and like them out of the gate. Finally got one a few weeks ago. First outing was really discouraging, so I changed-out the scope (always liked the P-22) and ran some better ammo through it. It responded well. Now, that's about it...a slightly better scope, much better ammo=1"=ish groups @ 50 yards. Not where I need to to be, especially if it's getting fed decent ammo like this. My 64 will cloverleaf the same ammo @ 50 yards with few exceptions/fliers, so I know the ammo is good, and up to the task. Not much over-travel in my trigger, but it breaks heavily. Will measure that today. I don't have any bore scope, but wonder whether or not there are any issues with the crown. I'll address what I can, then move up from there.

The scope was chosen in part because of it's length, and not interfering with the rear sight. I'll keep this scope on regardless, but how difficult is it to drift-out that rear iron sight once the grub screw is removed?

AND....I've never modified a bolt to put a custom handle on, but wow...does this gun need that modification. lol

just received two from Tenda (free shipping over $300 so I ordered two). Interestingly enough, made in 2018-12 with threaded barrels. One mag had a bit of rust on it and they don't seem to be dipped in oil before packing and shipping like most Norcs are.

So I am sure that I am not the only one who has noticed the two screws and plate at the bottom of the pistol grip.

Wonder if an easy way to make it hold a spare mag securely.

Just made the spring mod from stuff I had lying around and now have the trigger pull down to just under 2lbs. I need some lighter spring wire to try.

mine scoped with el cheapo Visionking 1.25-5x26 three pin reticle scope. I just prepared several Krylon spray paint cans and will get to work on some camo design.
It is a fun little gun and seems build very well with smooth beefy bolt and more than acceptable trigger. I surprised that there is so little interest in those EM332As....or no one is admitting to have bought one.

That is an awesome paint job. Any links or tips as to how you did it?
If the gun had been sold painted like that they would have been much more popular..

I actually find it quite simple. My method is I have saved several dry leaves from various trees and shrubs. I spray paint the stock in one base colour, say green. Then you place the leaves on various locations over the stock and spray paint over with different colorus such as brown, reddish, white and blue. just a quick splash. then let dry and then seal with transparent seal spray paint. you can use more white for winter cammo, or more brownish for summer cammo. I don't have any examples as I sold those rifles but I will do this on these EM332As again.

Look up sponge camo.... degrease the surface, rattle can paint in whatever colours you want, various shapes of foam (stuff in cushions and rifle cases)... make up foam pads work too (just check to make sure the paint doesn't melt it)

Spray the foam... dab on the paint into whatever pattern appeals. If you completely pooch it, spray with paint remover and start over.... or a coat of primer and do it over again.

Yes, it really is that simple... and effective. With these paints, the colour will come off with use (clear coat can help)... I just strip each spring and see what finish/pattern I want to play with that season.

It's all fun so express yourself.... stencils, decals, vinyl covering... whatever. The polymer on these stocks will stick to quality epoxy surprisingly well so you can change the profile by adding on wood and shaping. Material is really very strong and much better then the vast majority of plastic factory stocks.

Enjoy

How do these silk purses shoot?

The thread was dormant for half-a-year since its recent revival. By now there must be some targets to show how these rifles shoot at 50 or 100.

I’ve only taken mine out once and sighted it in. I’d like to put some better glass on it. I’ll post some pictures of groups at 50 meters with CCI SV this weekend.
