Felix.NZ....if rooster is no longer making his mount (check with him as I don't know the answer to this...it is no longer available from brownells) send me your mailing address via PM and I will throw one in the mail for you.
rooster33 - I was unaware there are different heights! I have a large number of your mounts bought over the last several years (some from you, others from brownells, and some from EE users). I will dig them up and have a look. I don't remember any of them having the ability to co-witness with the irons when using a standard aimpoint low mount but perhaps all I have are the older versions.....
misanthropist - with the ultimak rail and the low aimpoint mount: the red dot is visible through the irons through the complete range of rear sight travel. As you dial the elevation knob up, the red dot appears higher and higher over the front sight post. I find this very useful for 400, 500 and 600 meter shooting as it gives me a visual reference for where the dot needs to be held in the holdover department. As the dot is much more fine than the front sight post, I find it helps me considerably with accurate long distance fire. Also, with the ultimak rail as low as it is cheekweld with a standard unmodified USGI stock is as close to the original design as possible when looking over the rear sight, and bang on what it should be when using the iron sights. This has also helped me a great deal in shooting past 200 yards.
