Seeking advise on how we should we reply to this customer!

The world is full of ass-hats; the older I get, the less time I have for playing games.

There are enough good customers in this country that you should not have to coddle bad ones. Just guessing, but once the brass arrived, there would be something wrong with it; too long, not uniform, some discolouration on few pieces. A lost sale is a minor loss compared to having to deal with a perpetually unhappy/angry whining suck.

Have you actually read any of the posts? Dealer got caught acting like a douche bag trying to out a customer who asked (admittedly not well), a reasonable question. You and the last few guys commenting obviously never bothered actually reading any of the original posts/comments or are just fanboys of the business…

I bought a scope online from a certain gunshop in Ontario. After my EMT went through, I wondered when my scope would be shipped. Then I found out that the seller did not actually have my scope in stock and that it would have to be ordered. I paid them in full and now I have to wait.

So your customer has probably been burned in the past. You should tell him, " I am an ethical businessman and I only advertise things on my website when I have them in stock and ready to ship"

As an aside, I have dealt with Dennis and he is great to deal with.

Any honest business these days has enough clients to afford to be picky.. Some people assume every business out there is desperate for business and will put up with anything.

Imagine telling a contractor on a job showing "if you do a bad job I’ll sue you"

Yeah, maybe you’d be within your rights, but who in their right mind starts a business relationship on that tone?

Do you think the contractor would call you back?

You did not read mine either, I don't suffer fools well. I'm at a place in my life where I don't need to deal with anyone I don't want to. I am much happier and having less stress, and in doing so, I am willing to extend my career beyond where I had planned just a few short years ago.

Life is good when you avoid those who want to make you as miserable as they are.

Well stated.

When times are good many people don't even have the courtesy of a call back for an inquiry that is not rude or hostile..... bad behaviour on either end of a transaction is bad behaviour..... I prefer upfront honesty around what is expected from a client over leaving things ambiguous and finding out down the road what they expected.

In the case at hand, the customer expressed his concerns and future actions pretty clearly.....

I've been accused of being blunt at times and while I do have the brains to be tactful from time to time, I prefer straight to the point , even what some would consider brutal honesty, over games of deception.

I hear you and will add that it get's even better when you learn to control your emotional reaction to external BS that is out of your control..... that said if a person is ever able to acheive a high level of emotional control, that doesn't mean you should hang out with vampires.
