Sellers Remorse

Daewoo K2 back in the day.

Lost money to boot, and can never own it again. Sigh.

More recently, Vz.58, at least I can still get one of those again (for now).

I have 2 [of several] that seem to cause me the most regret every time I think about them.

1. Ruger #1AB in 7x57.
2, Remington 700 "Classic" in 300 H&H Magnum.

Regards, Dave.

Wish I'd have never sold my Remington 788 in 22-250. That was one tough rifle considering the abuse it took. I kind of miss my Sako chambered in 7STW as well. It was a bit heavy for sheep hunting but oh so accurate!

Cooey model 84 12 gauge ... my first very own firearm, brand new, early 1960s. I treated it like an expensive Browning double for 4 or 5 years, hunted waterfowl and upland with it, then tossed it aside like trash ( to my younger brother) when I got my first pump, ( a CIL that actually was trash).

After a few years of hard use by said brother, who is an excellent and avid hunter, the Cooey was stolen out of his vehicle (old days, old rules). I always eye up the Cooeys that appear for sale on CGN, but haven't bought yet ... it would be a totally sentimental buy, as I really don't have a use for one.

Sold a customized lightweight .45 Colt commander a long while back that for some reason suddenly stopped feeding my hand load SWC lead bullets reliably but other than that shot very accurately. Kinda wish I would have spent more time trying to fix it rather then getting rid of it. In retrospect I think I could have tuned it up especially knowing what I know now about what makes these 1911s tick.

My 1953 Izhevsk laminate SKS. Serial number "OP8"

It was also a pretty rifle for an SKS:

Not to sure for certain I could pin it down to just one. Lots of sellers remorse!! I would have to say either a win 94 Saskatchewan diamond jubilee, or my rem 700 classic in 6.5x55 mauser. Wish I had both back!

Too many. One I let go that I really regret if nothing else for the value I let it go at.... Custom 98 action very heavy br styler 22-250. One in Phrophet river is so close it's scary and asking 3500 (they won't get it at that price) but I traded for a Sako aIII in 6mm rem that ended up biting me in the butt. I got had on that deal for sure and accidentally passed it on (not to worry...made it right), should have kept that one or at least got more out of it.

Iv got one for you guys, ever sold your favourite rifle, only to get scammed for the $$? (not looking for sympathy here lol)

Iv always dreamt of a sako finnlight, I'm a regular joe, so the finnlight has always been a hair out if my reach $$ wise. Until one day a finnlight 300 wsm with a vortex scope came up on usedfirearms.ca, $1400, A great deal and I had to have it. The only thing I could do to afford it was sell my pride and joy, a browning Abolt micro medallion in 7-08, made in 1989, it was still unfired, not even a fingerprint, it was a wall hanger, my intent was to save it for my daughter for her first hunting rifle when she got old enough (she's only 2) I reluctantly posted it up for sale, it sold for $1150 within days, and I got the $$. I contacted the fellow with the finnlight the same day, after a phone call telling hunting story's, numerous emails, exchanging photo ID's, I figured I took every precaution. I e transferred the guy the $1400, and never herd from the SOB again. Turns out he was a professional scammer, using another guys ID that he had stolen.

End of the day, I was out my micro medallion, which I spent countless hours drewling over, dreaming of the day my daughter put the first round down the pipe (so then I could try it next lol) plus another $250 on top of that, Iv been kicking myself in the a$$ ever since for selling that micro. (all happened last fall).

I can't bring myself to sell any of my guns. Each one means something to me, and I know most of them will never be used again... At least until my kids are older.
I thought about selling my 7600 carbine a few years ago, but that thought only lasted a few hours. Just can't bring myself to do it.
