Semi-auto B guns -- 391, Maxus, SBE

Probably all of those. If I was paying over a 1000$ for a Semi, it better handle all that or I want my money back.

And all decent shotguns are over $1000 mark, many good ones are in the 10s of thousands and really good ones are in the 100s thousands range (Holland & Holland, Purdey and a like).

I have personally witnessed two Maxus shotguns go over 1000 rounds with no cleaning, and not a single malfunction using target loads. My SX2 and my SX3 never had a single malfunction either, but they were cleaned on a regular basis.

All shotguns or semis? Just because they are expensive shouldn't mean they are better. Quality for sure goes through the roof, but price alone doesn't make something better. Then again it all depends on what you are looking to do? Firearms are tools to me, if you are willing to spend the GDP of a small country on a firearm then you have different priority's for what your firearms do :)

I have 2 - 391's, both of which went more than 2500 rounds right out of the box with no cleaning, although neither were in
" 1 day " , but over several days at the Gun Club. All with 24 gram or 1 oz target loads.

I have so far, not had a single malfunction with either ( both are Parallel Target models ) and have no doubt either would
reliably function with 1000 rounds or more of light target loads in a single day. Both guns have more than 7500 rounds through
them at present, and one may be in excess of 10,000.

Many of the commercial Dove operations in Argentina have either Beretta or Benelli autoloaders as their "Lodge" guns
for use by their clientele ... because they are so reliable for high volume shooting. It is quite common for single shooters
to burn up 2000 - 2500 shells per day in the Cordoba dove fields.

My 391s have done about the same without cleaning. There are some I've seen that have gone longer with just a quick sprays of G96 when they got sluggish.

Thank you for your kind reply. Maxus and SX3 share identical actions. It's just the furniture is different. So if Maxus could last over 1000 rounds, so will SX3. Thank you for the valuable advice!

In shotguns in particular, especially in break actions, you get exactly what you pay for. The differences between $500, $1000, $10,000, and $100,000 are staggering!!!

A very good example. Thank you for that. I've been considering 391 for quite some time but can't decide between Berettas and Brownings now :-(

None of them guarantee reliable cycle of super light loads. The most reliable are pumps and break-actions then :)

Why are you asking a question and then answering it and replying to yourself over and over? Why are going crazy and posting on everything suddenly? Running up your posting count or something? Seems weird to me.

It must be bath salts, can't sleep. But other than that, entertaining the crowd ;-)

Newer semis and newer semis are not the same. I've had Stoeger M2000 that refused to cycle light loads (1oz and sometimes even 1 1/8 target loads). I've takes friend's Beretta 391, I think -- jammed the first 1oz round. The list goes on, unfortunately...

Very few shooting 7/8 in 12 ga and beyond buy a 28gauge. 1oz is the common light load at any club I have shot at and all of the newer semi's will handle 1oz all day long
