Ouch - that hurt. My comment was in observation of available G3/HK91/CETME stampings.....Nice try Murray Smith, but this stamping was based on the CETME Model A![]()
still waiting for FRNs with a prefix of 20 to show up
AHHHHHH
Do you think if I chain my naked body to the door of whatever building they will approve these quicker?

And perhaps haha. There are a few hurdles to overcome. First would be to convince the US manufacturer of the G3,MP5,CETME stampings to do a run of CETME A stampings. This would probably require a (relatively) large volume order, ~$50,000-$100,000 worth. Then the next hurdle would be to convince RCM to do a run of 18.5" barrels, again a large volume order would be necessary. Barrels are a huge hurdle to overcome since they have to have the chamber fluted and not many companies are able to do that.
These guns are definitely not meant for small scale production like CNC'd aluminum rifles can be adapted to. The receiver of the rifle I submitted was made using a ton of sacrificial 3D printed stamping dies, so not feasible for production. Also, I used an existing Sarco? made barrel, which is 18", but still had the chamber flutes. So the rifle that was submitted will end up being restricted, if it gets the labs blessing. Which I'll probably end up selling shortly afterwards, to fund more future projects.
In the end, it will probably require at least $250,000 worth of upfront investment to get a production run going. Not the best use of money in this political climate... And honestly I'd prefer to just keep making more rifles/SMGs to submit to the lab to get approved, rather than do production. I'd be happy to work with any other company to make it happen though. And I'm pretty confident that at least 1 company will just go ahead and get CETME A rifles made in the US to their own spec anyways, once this gets approved haha.
Thanks!

That's the problem, a $250,000 investment and make what on a return? Maybe 10%. You could take your $250,000 and make better investments and make more money.

Vaporware.
So one?

Welcome to the Canadian firearms market.
I'd imagine this is at least a year and a half out from getting an FRT .
B-wing has the skills so he gets the cool stuff NOW. We're all plebs and must cry and wallow in shame
Even finding information from them is hard. Any ATIP I file with Rcmp takes 12-36 months. It's ridiculous.
I assume they are told to look as thoroughly as possible for reasons to withhold information. Otherwise they just don't want to do it. All other departments I have had personal phone calls just to confirm details and other friendly non-required interactions
What……what is the point of your posts?
Yes, one. Which was sent off to the “lab” for determination. If their determination is NR/R then more can be made. If their determination is Prohib, then no more will be made. Why would more be made without receiving their determination?
Lol, I highly encourage every to learn the skills. Nowadays things are pretty easy with free design software, additive manufacturing, and YouTube. The tools to make things are getting pretty cheap too.
This reminds me to submit another ATIP on what is currently at the lab waiting for determinations haha. So far I haven’t had a single return on any of the ones I sent out, with the first being almost 2 years ago. I did have a separate one get back to me from the rcmp within a year though, and it was submitted after my previous ATIPs lol
I wonder if I could buy a cetme L kit from Marcolmar....san the flat for obvious reason, either way I hope we hear some good news about this project.
Also I could be wrong but dont you need a business license to manufacture any and all firearms now ?
A lot of interesting things seem to be down at the lab and with some of the things they've been approving it does make me hopeful
I'm gonna shid my pants
Better hurry up and get to the heads
