For an AR15, I have only played with the 223 Rem which can be tuned to a high degree of accuracy wrt to the platform.

Recoil and pressure are not your friend when trying to get the highest levels of accuracy... at least with current aftermarket and factory parts. unsure what could be achieved if you have the capacity to build 'different' into the rifle?????

So far, I haven't really seen where high costs necessarily leads to a better result... but I most certainly have not tried every option out there.

Appreciate the kind words... I rarely get involved in assembly as it is pretty straight forward. However, this is feedback from a happy customer earlier last year... and it is in 6.5 Creedmoor. The Berger 130gr Hybrids seem to really thrive in these rifles and are easy to tune.

"So Ive been able to load develop and put some time in on that BCL102 that you helped me put together. Its a rock star! I got some crazy groups so far at 100 and i beat the #### out of a 1200yrd target with 130gn AR hybrids. Once i had the elevation dope it was a 2nd round hit and then another follow up to confirm. Both center of mass.

The adjustable gas block is great but not necessary because the mcgowen barrel seemed perfectly gassed at the rifle +2 length. My brass was in very decent shape afterwards.

I can really tell that having the bolt headspaced to the rifle by Dan at Mcgowen is key. My accuracy nodes were pretty long. At least .7gn.

My barrels were headspaced to SAAMI specs and have worked great too so matching a bolt to barrel may not be totally necessary. Certainly doesn't hurt if proper parts are used....

For those interested in getting a barrel with a matched bolt, Shilen offers this service. Their options are limited to what is on their site but many popular configurations are offered. Very well made barrels that have done very well in US Service Rifle competitions. I have run Shilen barrels for years in my F class competition and they have done very well for me.

Each bolt is serialised to the barrel. Multiple barrels can be set up at the same time for high volume competition shooters.

yep, they will all cost more then some "match" barrels on the market. But the performance speaks for themself.

All sorts of options are possible from a number of manfs.... so pm or email if interested.

What kind of speeds and charge are you getting out of the 130 gr. Bullets? My 140 gr ELD=m were kind of slow and I haven't started on the 120Gr. Bergers you sold me.

Definitely slower vs a bolt rifle. I suggest using start loads and see where the best balance of function/accuracy/brass life is. An adjustable gas block might help

A difference of 100fps isn't going to change your ability to put bullets WAY down range. As indicated, 1200yds is still no problem with the 130gr Hybrids. With several 140/142gr type bullets, I would still think 1500yds is reacheable.... but without consistency and accuracy, it will be hard to put lead on target.
