Im just wondering how hard is it to find a gewehr 43 ive seen lots of svt 40s but never really any gewehr 43 s. Im taking a wild geuss but im sure they will run me a couple of dollars

More than a couple of dollars.
Most that you will see are Czech or VoPo reworks. These are not cheap. A bring back will be more.
You are looking at a couple of thousand, at least.

Can be found, pop up on the EE every once in a while. Or bring one up from the states. As for price will cost a good chunk of change. Depends on matching numbers or not, ect

Was a score one at wolverine last year for a while, I believe it was $3500. Reminded me of a tiger tank - classic German over engineering for the job at hand. Very cool, but come on guys!

I wonder what the reliability of the gewehr 43 was like if they were over built like a tiger tank maybe they also had the same reliability(next to none)

From what I understand, the GW43 was pretty reliable and well built. They took the good from the GW 41, got rid of the gas-recapture system for operating the action, and swapped in the piston system from the SVT-40 - which the German engineers were quite impressed with.

It's notable that at the time they started reworking the GW-41 into the GW-43, they had access to both the Garand and the SVT, and it was the SVT they stole ideas from.

GW-43 is on my "Lotto Win" gun list. Would love to have one, but the price, for something I'll only take to the range once or twice a year, is a little on the steep side.

Then again, probably a better investment than the crap returns I'm getting on my RRSP's right now.

a g43 as a lotto win gun if I won the lottery it would be a Russian t-34 and then maybe a British double rifle

Not that many made, alot captured and re-issued by other armies and not imported.

I remember seeing pictures of piles of them being captured from central American guerrillas along with Mg34's etc. Too bad that surplus dealers didn't sell them to the public instead of to the troublemakers.

a lot of Russian capture was sent to Vietnam a lot of it was also sold as surplus to other country's and fate unknown. a lot of WW2 surplus arms and armor got sold all over the globe and used till something newer came around after that a lot of it was scrapped

Not too much to add - The G/K43 rifles are scarce and sporters go as low as $800 and they go up from there. There are still some in Ex-Soviet stores but they are asking too much money for any exports to make it worth while.
Most encountered in Canada are VOPO rifles (which are valued more in the US but less in Canada). This is because they were imported into Canada. The US also had an order near the end of the war that allowed GI's to send captured weapons home. So many rifles made it home as Vet Bring Backs. Canadians were not so lucky - they had to sneak their stuff home - hence why there are so many nice P08s and P38s in Canada.

The G41's as exceptionally rare on both sides of the border and are around that 6K+ mark easy.

If you want a representable G/K43 expect to pay 2.5-3.5K
