I discovered this German manufacturer who is building semiauto Mp40's. Would this fall under the same rules as the semiauto mg-34 available at Marstar? It is a new manufactured reciever only able to fire in semiauto. I am guessing it would still be restricted here as the barrel would be under 18.5 inches.

Last question, who will import these for us?! :p ;)

Yea no price, but I can't imagine them being less than one of those SIG CQB rifles or the like.

I would still get one if they could get past the "oooh, a mean bad guy looking gun" test.

IIRC there is an old thread in here somewhere that discusses that gun...I think the price was like $3500.

Might they be too similar to full-auto MP-40's though. It says it takes MP-40 parts which makes me wonder if the receiver is different enough to pass.
Wouldn't matter. The MP40 is only prohib because of it's full auto capability, not prohib by name so "variants" don't come into play.
Same thing as the real deal VZ58 and the ones we get here........

yes it would matter the gun would have to have a reciever that is capable of semiauto ONLY if it is just a matter of putting in the original ww2 Full auto parts it would NOT be allowed in canada

now if the reciever was a smaller diameter the bolt and fire control group machined so its NOT possible to convert back to FA then it would be ok

look at the semi 1919's smaller reciever, guts machined to prevent the install and use of FA parts

Do you know of any STEN guns like these MP-40s? I'd want a semi STEN Mk.5 with a wooden stock.

not gonna happen anytime soon

the rcmp and cfc cannot (or will not) decide what is the "reciever" on the sten on some its the tube on others its the mag houseing (im talking the CA's and FA's) now to build a semi use a new semionly tube they say its a CA as the mag houseing is the reciever so you build a maghouseing they say you need to be a manufacture basically they dont want us to have them

wait times are changeing once the cfc is gone you only have the rcmp to deal with

if you import one from the U.S or anywhere the rcmp tecs have to test it you may NOT get it back ever
