To my knowledge the CSRA is now defunct as was communicated to membership in 2012. I have no knowledge of status or whereabouts of CSRA property - as far as I know it may well have been seized by the APRA upon lockout from the Homestead range. The bank account, if it has or had money in it could be frozen for all I know - I don't and didn't have signing authority.
I keep getting account statements delivered to my house so there must be money in the account and all I do is send them to the shredder .Who has authority on the account I am not sure .

Maybe the DCRA can use it to get Alberta's SR program rolling again.
Maybe you and I should mention that to the DCRA this Aug/Sept........

Same thing goes, I aint trying to be dikhed but if people werent involved it isnt their place to be making plans with someone else's money.
We aren't trying to steal anyone's money, or be rude. We just want to shoot service rifle again. If there is money somewhere that is supposed to be used for service rifle, why can't it be spent accordingly to get it running again? It seems like we are our own worst enemies. I've only been involved in the sport for 3 years and would love to be able to shoot in my own province. I'd love to help do whatever needs to be done to get it going again. I'm getting sick of being kept in the dark and being fed crap, and tired of all the politicking, backstabbing, and whining. Tell me what's needed, and let's get it going.
I'm pretty sure Koldt is not implying that.
1) A RANGE: -SR (at least the DCRA game) needs a gallery range to do it justice, but with some creativity, others will do too. 100-500m preferable, but something shorter would be a start. Military ranges are ideal, and there are some civilian ranges in Alberta that are or soon will be capable of hosting matches.
2) VOLUNTEERS - nothing will get done without someone willing to get this showboat on the road.
3) DEDICATED COMPETITORS - hopefully guys get sucked into the addiction at the first match, but life gets in the way of most and time waits for no man....some of us are getting older. Recruitment with 3 gun and CQB courses of fire is a good way to get younger guys hooked.

I've heard rumors of plans for a different gallery style range in southern Alberta. If anyone is privy to that information, true or false, please PM me.
I shot my first service rifle match in February of 2011. I loved it. I dabbled in a few different competitive shooting disciplines prior to that but they just were not for me. I really wanted to give IPSC a go and met a few good people doing that, but I found many people very clique and too many took themselves way too seriously.
The guys at CSRA were completely laid back and open to helping out the new guys. You could tell even the best shooters were there to have fun. Great atmosphere and what a great discipline. I shot 6 matches in 2011 and really took to it. Still willing to help in any way I can. Certainly willing to volunteer time and definitely will show up to the matches if we can get it going again somewhere.
