Service rifle goals.

Couple more LEG points, distinguished, Fire perfect shots in the 200y standing. President's 100 tab.

I don't see anybody else with these goals, is this the right Service Rifle forum?:D

Camp Perry is just around the corner from SW Ontario.
I would really like to shoot some of their vintage/classic matches.

Your talkin Yankee service rifle which is a whole different ball game( and a lot more boring ;) )

Correct. US Service Rifle. Watch the "Yankee" term. Some folks still figure the "War of Northern Aggression" is not over - just at half time --- and they don't take kindly to being painted as "Yankees." Roger that on the "boring." Sort of sterile compared to Canadian Service matches. Basically "Target Rifle" matches with Service rifles. (And damn my aging eyes, with IRON sights)

In simple pictures: Camp Perry:shotgun: Connaught Ranges: :ar15:

Since I'm a civvie now - I can't win the QM, anyway. Did CFSAC a bunch of go-arounds, Bisley and AFSAM. Think it's time to see what the fuss is all about at a super-huge-big-match. Chance to hook up with some US buddies I've made over the years. Maybe do the NRA thing even years and NSCC in odd years... Chance to win some "different stuff" instead of just "more stuff."

How do you plan on getting a presidents 100 tab when you are in ontario?

Hmm...trick question? Someone in Ontario gets a Pres100 tab pretty much the same way someone in Arizona or New Mexico, or Alaska would get a Pres100 tab. Only difference is Ontario is a hell of a lot shorter drive...

I was under the impression that presidents 100 was their military only? Kind of like our elite 50.

President's Match is a CMP Match. Civilian Marksmanship Program. It happens right on the heels of the Small Arms Firing School which is a whole weekend of civilians using USAMU rifles and learning the game with USAMU coaches. Figure it to be like NSCC, which is civvie, but open to military. Military members occupy majority of 100, principally USAMU and USMC Rifle Teams... That's a training thing.

BIG difference being this -- I've been "Elite 50" a bunch of times. I'm pretty happy about that -- but typically in a field at CFSAC of a few hundred shooters... Maybe as many as 500 in a big year in the old days??

The Presidents 100 is the top 100 in a field of over 2000 (US) "Service" rifle shooters in a single day match fired at 200-300-600. Winner gets a letter from the President. President's Match is NOT part of any other aggregate or the NRA High-power Championships for match rifle or service rifle. It is it's own one-day thing.

Easy to think of it as a military thing since you see the tabs on military uniforms -- In the absence of slick uniforms, civvies got no place to wear the tabs, so they go in the drawer, or wherever. Shooting bag, perhaps. I dunno.

My first goal is to arrive for BCRA SR
Second is to shoot BCRA with my rack grade AR15 instead of an enfield.

I can't shoot as a Ranger though which kind of sucks but I'll get over it.

June 2, 2012 for Pistol.
SR walk backs afternoon of the 2nd.
SR shoot June 3, 4th, 2012.
Ian says there're only 46 spots for pistol and 95 for rifle.
Get in there!!
