While I have 3 Beretta's and love them for their accuracy, reliability and build quality the Girsan is a very good pistol built on CNC equipment supplied by Beretta. I have pone of the Girsan Centurian copies and it is a very well built pistol. It may cost less than the Beretta but it certainly is not a cheap pistol.

The Shadow2 is a purpose built pistol for IPSC Production. I doubt most shooters would get much benefit buying it over the regular Shadow which is a very nice pistol in it's own right. Whether one chooses to buy and shoot a Beretta 92FS or any of the other iterations over the Shadow, Shadow2 or any other pistol falls to personal preference as much as anything IMHO.

Now of course none of the above applies to me buying a CZ 75 Shadowline for $1,150 plus tax which shoots so much better than my tuned 85 Combat. I am a lot closer to beating my friend Troy at our club matches. Alas, I still have not found the gun to do it...well maybe my new PPQ M2 Match will be the ticket......:<(

Shadow 2 fanboy here. I have several thousand rounds through mine and honestly, it just feels better every time I shoot it. Pretty much everything else in the safe is going unused these days.

As far as weight goes, I personally enjoy shooting something a little more substantial. I did change the springs and firing pin to lower the double action trigger pull even though the factory setup was fantastic; couldn't help but tinker and not sure if it's really any better.

Assuming you like the weight, I can't imagine how you would be disappointed with the S2.

I mean the slide failure / locking block safety, on the left side of the frame. Where the half moon, interfaces with a cut out in the left side of the slide. If the locking block breaks or slide cracks it prevents the slide from flying off straight into your face. I'm not sure which generation this started with.

Correction "My Elite IA doesn't have it" (actually it does), my 92A1 did, Girsan doesn't.

They started that with the change from the 92f to the 92fs so I guess girsan modelled it after the 92f.
 
From what I have read this change was motivated after some failures occurred during testing for the US Army when some 9mm amo meant for sub machine guns was used in the guns. The size of the cross pin was enlarged. As Skoal points out the Girsan is a copy of the 92F. I don't see it as any reason to avoid the Girsan version given the guns use with the Turkish military and police units.

I have a 92fs , upgraded trigger short pull and d spring and i just love it
i did try a shadow 2 and liked it but the beretta just fits my hands better i guess like with
women

I shot IPSC with my Elite 1A for quite while before switching to the M9A3 when then became available. I have found that the Berettas I own are some of the most accurate and reliable firearms in my collection and see the most range time due to those reasons.
 
can anyone tell me how is this possible? selling a gun used that much at this price?

Well people are free to ask whatever price they want and that gun new is around $3k.
