Shadow vs. Shadow 2

What I don't understand is why the Shadow2's with the original frames are being allowed to be sold. I would think CZ would stop the delivery chain and recall the pistols. SIG is spending thousands correcting their drop test issues and CZ is doing what? Most of these guns are shooting minor loads of 9MM and the frames with shok buffs installed are still cracking?

I feel for the guys who have $1,400 in the gun but new guys should not be put in a position where they are now buying a "new" gun that likely will have a frame that will crack. The brand is going to take a hit unless they get out in front of the issue.

How wide spread a problem is it?

How wide spread a problem is it?

You will have to judge for yourself. Go out and search the forums. From what I can see it is not an isolated incident. CZ has changed the frame so it obviously isn't a one time event. There is talk on the Enos forum about the frame cracks. I just am surprised more has not been done by CZ. The Shadow2 would not sell in the numbers that say the Glock or SIG 320 would sell but the gun is popular with the IPSC crowd a sport where the CZ tends to dominate in the Production Division along with Tanfoglio.

If I Google "Shadow2 frame cracks" very little comes up which is why I asked the question.

I'm also not seeing a lot.

One thread in Enos discusses frame cracks, but no pictures are uploaded...I'm not seeing anything else related to the shadow 2?

I've had a Shadow 1 for years and it took me from limited skill to pretty darn good.
I want a 2 badly but will never sell the S1, esp after competing with it.

Slavex has posted pictures on Enos of the old frame and the "fix".

I saw the pictures. However, a manufacturer making a manufacturing change isn't necessarily indicative of a sweeping widespread problem. HK and the USP's immediately come to mind.

When guns develop cracks using light for caliber ammunition, there is a problem. Mind you the CZ 85 Combat has a reputation of slide stops breaking but not after nine months of shooting, as reported by the guy who posted on the IPSC Village website. A frame crack is a terminal issue on a gun.

I am a fan of CZ products and my gun safe will attest to that but the silence on this subject is deafening.

I'm not trying to be a ####, but do you actually read the posts people make before responding?

Well you are being a #### and I did read your post. You evidently didn't read mine. We are not talking about a manufactures upgrade due to a performance issue or a way to improve profits by reducing manufacturing costs by tinkering with the design. Anyone over the age of 10 understands changes are made to products all the time - cell phones for example. Changing the design of the frame as a result of frame cracks hardly is the same thing.

If I owned a Shadow2 and shot a lot of IPSC and guys who buy the guns tend to shoot a lot, I would be concerned. I suspect some are. Slavex has posted on the Enos forum he has 70,000 rds on his two Shadow2's with no issues. He also has an upgraded frame on one of them or he borrowed a friends to take the pictures he posted. Is it widespread? If I owned one I would find out.

I have read your posts. I initially asked "How wide spread a problem is it?" and you proceeded to provide no support for it effecting a large number of guns. All I'm asking you to do is support the narrative you're presenting.

p.s. It's rich to patronize everyone on the site and then call someone else a ####, lol.

I'd love an Orange but $$$. I'd be tempted to get a Tang for that price. Does the Tac Sport come in all black or all silver? :p

Tac Sports are generally Black Slide on Silver frame. Incredible trigger and great value for Standard Division. I sold both my Shadow 2's and was going to Standard, so I've spent the last several months with a TS and the gun is awesome. Just went back to a regular Shadow with a dot for Production Optics, like the dot but miss the TS trigger and thumbrest!
