Sharon IPSC Level II

If the MD chooses not to use the online system, thats their decision and they have to do extra work(far more then the time it takes the shooter to call in for the slot) because of it. They felt the call in method was a bnetter choice for what ever reason, thats their choice. dont like, it dont go. Just like those that dont like the online system and dont go to matches because of it

Well Pat since you are on the IPSC Ont BOD can you tell us if there is a "push" by the powers that be to move away from the online match system run by Omen? If so, why? I have heard and gotten conflicting information and maybe some of the frustration ppl have stems from that? You should be in the loop and have the skinny, so what is going on? :nest:

Lol. No don't read too much into this, we are just trying something at our club. We like it so far but you have to decide what is right for your club.

I think most members know that all matches are not listed on this online system and it is members responsibility to check ontario site for all matches and then check online if there, for ease of sig up..
most, out of habit now, forget to check ontario site...that's their mistake..
we're debating on other thread how to better the site to be more fair for more people and this club is doing it the old fashion way and is very fair and no one should be complaing...
as Madness said, it's MD who has to do more work...that's their choice... I'm sure the match will fill in time.

re: the pop up window when you click link for more info on the ontario site calendar..
shows very basic info on place, level and date... it would be good for that pop up to be larger window with slot times, so one knows what to ask for when emailing or calling MD
and # of stages & round count...

We added contact info to the pop up window, should have had that there earlier. The rest can be asked when you call the MD really, it's just a 5 minute conversation with another living, breathing human being which we seem to be trying to do less and less these days...

Sure am glad that I am on gun nutz for I did not know there was matches on the calander that were not on the online sign up system. And for talking to someone in person, I like, but there is no phone number in the pop up window on the calander, just an email address.

This should now be your official hangout forum for match info and up dates as this forum is part of IPSC Ontario. http://www.ipsc-ont.org/forum/index.php http://www.ipsc-ont.org/machinfo.htm

CGN is not an official info site.

And of course Ontario forum is not available to out of province competitors who want to participate in Ontario matches, leavin match calendar the only source of infornation. I suppose MDs should take a que from that and post all required information about the match.

Yes... I forgot and added that link in but you qouted me to fast... I guess that's why you're a GM and I'm still in "C" classification...for now.... haha.

You are still too slow. Non-Ontario competitors can't get access to Ontario forum. It is a closed club.

Acutally not... if Perry Wood is not from Ontario why would he care to even comment but how little info was given on the Sharon sign up so my good guess he is from Ontario so I directed him to the best place to get his/her's info.

Are your trying to make friends again?

There should be no ifs... All matches are open to all IPSC members equally.

I am just stating the point. There is several people on this thread just proved it already, as they didn't know about this match. I wonder how many are still waiting for signup for the Waterloo Level 3 to open on ipsc-matches...

Use the IPSC Ontario website calendar or miss out on matches, the website calendar is the only official place to list matches, everything else is FYI only. We're not the only ones that haven't used the online sign up, compare the calendar over the year to the matches listed on the online sign up.

In my recollection you are the first one in GTA for last two years not using ipsc-matches for signup, or managing squads. The ipsc-matches site doesn't keep history, you can't really compare anything.

Before recently, number of matches wasn't even been listed on IPSC Ontario calendar (until I pushed for that), so people got used to not look there...

Anyways, this discussion is kinda pointless now. Just make sure to post all required information to the calendar. It is responsibility of the match director.

So my Question is, do we actually call the match director or do we send an email? If it is an email then what is different then the online system? And if we have to call will he be pissed if we all call at 3 in the morning. I am being serious as to when do we call, how soon before the match date etc?

We set it up like it used to be, two weeks prior to the match on the Monday call the club rep to sign up.
