With the small number of clubs that exist I doubt that IPSC will be pulling any clubs affiliation especially since there is nothing in the IPSC rule book or match policy that even mentions match fees. Get your facts straight before you start telling clubs what they can and can't do.

Might have a rules person say we can't. Actually for $20 we can do a level II and then the shooters get the match experience to be eligible for an RO course and the ROs get another point towards.........full circle.
 
I am having trouble understanding why people would rather have a 90 round level 1 than a 90 round level 2....
 
I am having trouble understanding why would any one want to limit clubs and level 1s. If clubs want to put in the effort to hold a IPSC matches, find RO's/volunteers to help and people come out to support the match then why not? During my limited experience in this game I have been to matches called level 2 that were not as good in my opion as many of the level 1s. I don't get too hung up on the what level matches are, if I want to shoot the match I sign up and shoot it.

i dont think people care as much about if it a level 1 or 2 . I think people want a good stages with higher round counts if im going to drop around $75+ then i want my money worth

And thats what a good level 2 should be..
A level I is just a sanctioned club match, its not really meant for people who want to travel 120km each way up hill in a snow storm...

I agree most people I speak with don,t care and a higher round count seems to be favoured. I not sure if people even care if you call it a IPSC match as long as it is safe, fun and scores are posted in a timely manner then then will show up to shoot.

And thats the big problem, nobody really understands the difference between a Level I and a Level II anymore. A level I is just a local club match, a level II is an area match and a Level III is a National level match. I won't travel for any level I and I don't care what the round count is. A level II I will travel up to a couple of hours to attend, but unfortunately we see some level II's that were put together with no more effort than a level I. I don't go to shoot a high round count match, I go to places I know that put on quality stages. If you stack a bunch of targets up in Chinese acrobat formations and proudly say "We have a high round count match" well good for you, thanks for taking my money and putting out zero effort, I won't come back.

and because of this we see a lack of quality matches, MD's get to believing that they can put up just about any old crap as long as its "high round count" which is why you see bad level II's

You are obviously are at a much higher level then I am as I can't say I have ever shot a bad level 2 match or even a level 1 for that matter. Some are better then others a some are better for my style but I would not say any are were bad.
