Florida Open is a Level I match, isn't? I have never hear anyone complain about that match. My friend Roy Neal makes a level 1 matches in Detroit area (from April till October and they all quality, what about Tonawanda, minimum 120 rounds and all level 1 for less then $20, I wonder if anyone will come from GTA if they will have 40 rounds??), last year I was able to attend two of them, they were over 200 rounds and cost me $25.
The only level 1 which I remember was a trully local and set every Wednesday were Gormley matches hosted by Don Lloyd. They were weekly event, unexpensive and with around 80 rounds. When someone makes a 40 round Level 1 match twice a year, involving setting couple walls, two poppers and 16 targets, this sounds more like a practice for me then a match. Why making fuss about it?
Eric, the only difference between level 1 and 2 is getting approval from IPSC ON and that is it. Some level 1s are better then 2 and that is how it goes and vice versa.
I guess, some guys will go to low round count matches no matter what and that is fine, especially if they live within 5 min drive, but when you have to drive more then one hour, shooting 40 rounds match makes little sense.

I sure hope that not a lot clubs follow the low round count model as I do not live within 15 mins of any club including my own. I am interested in seeing the greater quality stages that the up coming Sharon club sets up. Always like to see what more experienced clubs do so I improve what we are doing at our club.

Just make sure the results are up fast, shouldn't be a prob with only 40 rounds. Like before the last shooter has even put his keys in the ignition......oh wait wrong thread, my bad.
So that the folks who can't get signed up for matches because they filled in 3 minutes on the online sign up get to shoot some matches.
Our matches almost always fill up but it takes 2-3 days not 30 seconds, gives everyone a fair shake at getting in.

I was thinking we could all take up a collection to buy him a lifetime membership...in IDPA. 
Because all the shooters who are also smart phone savy will go online and sign up as soon as the match is opened for sign up. No matter if at work or out somewhere, they'll pause long enough to go online with their smart phones and all spots will be taken before some others, not so smart phone savy, can be by a computer to log in and sign up.. some only have desk top computer, and even few may not even have computer, etc...
so if everyone is forced to call in, in slows down the process and more fair for everyone.. not perfect, but more fair...
