I recently bought a few 12 gauge single shots sight unseen. There is one that is having a problem I can't seem to figure out. It fires fine but won't eject the spent shells. I can put a live she'll in and it will eject with force. Fire the shell and I have to knock it out with a old cleaning rod.
I got as far as discovering it doesn't have anything to do with the ejector.
If I pick up the empty shell after it has been fired and put it back in the chamber it is very tight going into the chamber. I've tried a few different types of ammo with the same result.
What could be causing this or is the old gun just wore out?
