shipping concerns?

I get asked all the time by people that are delivering, or ringing me in, "why do you need that much ammo?" I have the same response every time, " I's gots a lot a killin ta do." never had anymore questions after that. hahahah

Ya I wouldn't say that. Not very good way to represent us gun owners to the public and other newbies.

ask the driver to show their dangerous good certificate ... :p , most canpar driver's are contract employee's and you must have got a anti for a driver.

My only issue with them, and this has only been the last order, is that they don't deliver to my town. My last order was "out for delivery" for over a week. I live on an acreage in the country, but have an arrangement with a local business that I use their address for couriers. I checked with them, checked with the post office,(Just in case-because they have dropped stuff there before, even though the business name is plainly on the parcel) checked everywhere. No deliveries! WTF! So I finally got a hold of CanPar in Edmonton, and they couldn't find it. Then they asked me to call back in a day or so. Called back and got a different person, but it obviously caused a little bit of an issue, because when I mentioned my name he knew where the package was (right in his office) He then went on to explain that they no longer had anybody that delivered to out town. I was a little taken aback by this. NOBODY THAT DELIVERED TO OUR TOWN!!! Fortunately I have a friend in a town about 30 minutes away, so I had them deliver it to his work (the local Chev dealership) and he held on to it, until I got into town next time. The gentleman at CanPar was helpful and polite: gave me his name and told me next time I have something coming in to call them to see if they now have delivery to my town.

Well CANPAR delivered too 8.5" grizzly a to me today right befor I signed I noticed one box was banged up pretty good upon closer inspection the receiver had a nice scratch in it about 1" 1 1/4 " in length contacted can am and they are going to send me a replacement
CANAM +1
CANPAR FFFFFUUUUUUUU!
No matter what people say you can't beat the service at Canada ammo Chris and the gang go above and beyond my expectations ever time

I've placed my first order with Canada Ammo in the last couple days, though I've ordered from other suppliers and never had any issue with Canpar in my town. The employees here have always been friendly and efficient, of course if I'm not home they are free to leave on my doorstep due to layout of my place, it's not readily visible. (I've had tools out there for a week and nothing went missing).
The Canpar depot is also about a minute's drive from where I work. :D

Wow. Got my package from CANPAR today and the guy had the nerve to pull out his camera and take pictures of the package at my door stop. Like do you really need pictures of my package and house? Next time the guy is going to find me at home and not my wife.

I'd have to think back over the last 18 months or so since I placed my first order with them ... always only ordered ammo (so far) ... boxes have always been discrete - heavy but discrete plain brown corrugated box. Shipping label showed from Disco-tech or something similar. No looks, no questions CanPar has been fine. Mississauga Ontario ...

Maybe he wanted proof of delivery to cover his own butt with the boss

Last time I ordered a crate of milsurp, the kid placed it gingerly on my doorstep and backed away from it slowly, with his eyes wide. Wish I had a picture, lol.

I always get the delivery notice left at the door and then call and pick up in person. The photograph is apparently part of the proof they require of delivery of certain types of goods. Anytime I pick up from the depot the camera comes out to photograph the bar code stuff, and I did ask about it. If you order a new desk this will not happen, order a firearm and it will.

Also I have received several shotguns from Canada ammo in the original box with make, model and serial number showing. tsk tsk CanAm. Great company to deal with but that issue needs to be addressed IMO.

Hello there, would you be able to email me your order number and info to paul@canadaammo.com as I'd like to forward this concern to our rep at the same time as letting them know to tell their drivers not to be so snoopy.

Thank you.

I think my last order from you came under that return address also. I'm not complaining, it happens, that's a fairly innocent slip up. The packaging did not reveal what was in it otherwise. I think the one box was a fertilizer box and the other one was black shrink wrapped.

However, for the record, I don't think I will buy anything from you guys again, just because of the lack of professionalism from Canpar. We'll see, you keep putting up deals that are rather irresistible, but the stress level I had with the last one makes me very hesitant. Feel free to edit out my post after you read it, as this complaint isn't direct at you, but I would like you to understand what happened. Basically Canpar has decided that they no longer deliver to my house; I don't know when this changed but I understand that it is reasonable given that I'm out of city limits. Anyways, this means they sign for receiving my package, and note that it has been 'left at dock for P/U' or something like that. The 'dock' is entirely unsecured, and I was told to just go there and find my package. The warehouse that their dock is at is shared with 3+ other couriers, with many people coming and going. I found another package from you guys there for somebody else, but not mine, and there was no Canpar employees present to help me or supervise my rummaging through packages. I called their local number, which is just an answering machine, however it notes that you can pick stuff up between 7am and 8:30am. So, I came back the next day at 7am, hoping to actually talk to somebody who worked there and have them help find my stuff... Well, there wasn't anyone there, again, location entirely unsecured. However, more packages had been moved around, and I did find my stuff after searching around again. It also took them over a week to get it to PG, when their tracking estimate was only 1 day. I get nervous when their tracking doesn't update for over 72 hours; I'd purchased a shotgun from another vendor and they lost it for a couple weeks before it showed up on tracking again and made its way to me.

I was massively relieved to get my order, but the stress was NOT worth saving $20-30 on shipping. If you would offer the option of paying for shipping and having it go through somebody else, I would be much more likely to purchase from you again. FWIW, I've ordered from you guys multiple times and this was the worst Canpar experience thus far, but it appears that it will now be the typical experience.

To add to Chris' comment, you may also request in the order notes to have the order shipped by Canadapost, if it is not ammo and we will usually do it.

Thank you.

WOW! Sounds like its time to change to UPS or another carrier, not that their drivers are any more competent. I ordered 10 cases of .22lr (1,000 rounds) and 3 extra magazines. The box was clearly marked "do not safe drop" and the driver left it at my front door. Anyone could have come along and taken it. Thankfully it was still there when I got home.

Gee... I just ordered an ammo can and 750 rounds of 9mm. Bad enough I have had to wait from Feb2 to today just for them to get it shipped, let alone having to put up with CanPar's stupidity...

Mr. Jones, you ordered on Friday, Feb 7th and your order was processed on the same day. We were closed for the BC long weekend and shipped it today, within 3 business days of point of processing, our maximum service level.

I believe it is two business day shipping from us to you so I think you should receive it by Monday, and until you actually have an issue with Canpar, which you hopefully and likely won't, let's not jump to negative commenting and conclusions about their shipping just yet.

We ship about 150-200 packages with them a day, on average, and considering the amount of claims and actual issues we get with customers the percentage is very low, especially for the rates they charge us. They work with us on solving issues and are quite proactive when they are aware of an issue and have the ability to fix it, which is not the experience we had with UPS or Purolator. However, no matter what courier you go through, just like cell phone carriers, in a sense, there's upsides and downsides to each of them and bad eggs as employees throughout, no matter where you go.

What we can say, is they are generally doing their best to work with us and generally, our customers.

Thank you.

f:P:2: Sorry, my bad. I got the date mixed up with another ammo purchase notification in my email inbox next to yours. Feel free to :slap: me...

Call CP and lodge a privacy complaint, the only way they will push through concrete internal policy is if we make enough of a fuss.

Given their financial woes they are not likely to turn away firearms business, its low risk to high reward.
