Shooting beavers

Not that bad in as a stew.... Old trappers I know make a stew with Beaver and Lynx...
They also cook the tail (from a fall-fat beaver) in ember until it becomes crusty then they break the skin and eat... the cooked fat. Miummy!.

A native coworker tells me that beaver take is a natural afrodesiac....

Didn't roll out of bed for 2 weeks he says....

In Sask.(some parts), there is a bounty on them because of all the damage they do and it's cheaper for the municipality to pay the bounty, then hauling the equip. around cleaning out culverts. I bumped alot of them off this fall.

Just remember to wear protection before you shoot a beaver. That way you won't have any beaver problems...

Kill every last one of those MOFO son's of whores. I have got 14 out of the same spot this year and they are still damming my creek and have pucked my well.
I like the road flare idea but I will wait till the outside temp gets to -30 to leave them homeless.

How long till they evacuate the lodge after a flare is used? Could I wait for em to come out on the ice and start whacking them?

Won't they come out under the ice?

if you shoot em... eat em
they're supposed to be very good to eat

They are Awesome! I've got one thawing in the fridge right now.

If you shoot one, make sure you kill it - and use it. Bird shot won't work effectively or humanely. It puts lots of holes in the hide that trappers have to repair before sending it to the fur auction.

When i was a young chap, my Dad and I went up to Tobermory to a friend of his cottage. There was a beaver that was chewing through the cottage deck pillars. My pops had a .303 with him and was asked if he could solve this dilema. Being that this was 30 years ago he agreed . So at night waiting, my dad thumped off three rounds at a set of glowing eyes that were coming straight at him. In the morning all that was left was quils. It turned out to be a porcupine, and thats all that was left. cool story...

Yes but they always keep a path out to the surface, helps with the eating and not drowning thing. And by whack them I AM reffering to using a shovel.

You think Beavers can get on top of the ice when it's 30 below?? everything okay??..they sure don't where I live. Or maybe your thinking about Seals???

They can be shot, by the land owner, a direct relative of the land owner (father, son, sister brother..) or by an agent acting on behalf of the landowner.
Anything else is poaching.

Fixed it.... The landowner can call and authorize you on his behalf due to property damage concerns. I'd just SSS though...
