Princess Auto safety glasses. When they get scratched, I spend $4.00 on another pair and put the old one's in my garage next to the bench grinder.

those or the winchester /remington,..etc. yellow tint safety glasses will do the job,..but you will also get some distortion. The curve in the lense due to its shape is clearly visible. Plus they don't look as cool.:p:cool:

I got Rydon after much research.....
Love them.

What kind of research did you do? What makes these glasses worth $275US (less discount)

  • WTF is a carbonium frame?

  • ..revolutionary aerospatial aluminum alloy (Kynetium™)
Kynetium is a word that only exists on the Rudy website.

Sounds like snake oil to me. :confused:

I love the rudy project. The racing red lenses makes my fibre optic sight "pop" in any light condition. Love the interchangable lenses and the scratch warranty they have. You wont go wrong with "Rudy Project"

1) optical quality of their lenses is excellent with no distortion even thou there is lots of curvature;
2) warranty on the lenses;
3) tons of all kinds of lenses to choose from;
4) lenses swap in seconds, so if I shoot in AM, I can use one set, another set at noon and another in the evening - all giving me excellent protection, light transfer and contrast;
5) frame is light, comfy, adjustable, customizable
6) hmmm, I don't see any negatives, just positives for this combo

I bought several cheaper shooting glasses, including ESS, none compares. Oakleys seem more of the name than function to me personally.

Carbonium - material, look it up on the net; more or less carbon fiber, light yet strong.

Kynetium™ - key is Trade Mark symbol, the word is made up, they can call it whatever they want and register as trade mark, just like iPad, Venzo, Timex, and so on.

wow, not too many of us 'others' piping up here. I just wear my glasses, because prescription safety lenses aren't in the budget, and anything worn over my glasses is uncomfortable and looks dumb.

I don't usually stare down my ftf's anyway

Actually, for best optical effect, contacts and non-prescription shooting glasses is the best solution for me. But I got pretty strong RX on both eyes. For contacts, go with slightly undersized diameter as well if possible, you'll get way less irritation and can comfortably shoot all day long even outside on a very hot day. Acuvue Oasys are very good.

the laser red/orange that come with the shooting set are nice as well. I did not realize they had a scratch warranty.,...got a weird couple scratches in my racing red from a couple of matches ago...

ESS Crossbow with RX inserts. Love them for pistol shooting but found out that the geometry does not lent itself well to shooting rifles prone.

Please DON'T wear regular work safety glasses for outdoor use! The majority of them do not have UV protection and you can damage your eyes using them. They will cause your pupils to open up and allow more UV into your eye causing discomfort or worse.

I wore my black or gray 50/50 tint work glasses for 6 days at an outdoor range and could barely see at the end...I didn't know what was wrong until I spoke with the optometrist.
