shooting golf balls?

We use Golf Balls for our Egg shoots instead of eggs.

I have one on my desk that was a first hit at 500m and then proceeded to hit 2 more concurrently after that in as many shots. :D

Surprised no one has mentioned paint balls on a golf tee. Great fun with a .22. Furthest I have done it with a .22 is 60 yds but a .204 or .223 with a good scope will do them in at 100 yds.

BTW, we have a rule that it has to hit the paint ball but not the tee to count.

I was just about to say that, I love shooting paintballs with my .22 at 100 yards.

some really good ideas thanks guys. i like the paintball on the gold tee. separate the guys who can shoot from the guys who claim they can. and between the cost of tees, paintballs, and .22 rounds, 30 bucks will fill an afternoon with fun :D

Add some food-coloring to water (cubes, cups, bottles, etc...) and freeze it -- makes an ideal reactive target, with no clean up.

If you use a container that's wider at the top (like a yogurt cup) and run some hot water around the outside, you can pop the ice out nicely and stock-pile a slew of them for your next outing.

Still makes me giggle every time I watch one explode.

we used to play "10/22 golf" which entails two (or more) shooters with an equal number of golf balls
start with with the balls at 10 or so yards and pick a spot further down range
shoot at your ball, the first to cross the dowm range line wins
or alternatively the person to cross the line in the least amount of shots wins...

At the sniper portion of the EESA rimfire challenge, there were a number of paintballs on golf tees, and also golf balls. Actually, there was a just a heck of a lot of fun 22 reactive targets on that course!

Anyway, the two farthest golf balls were around 110 and 130 yards away, and almost lined up relative to our position. That distance makes them difficult targets for the average heavy barreled 10/22 and shooter. My brother and I shot that part as a team; I had my BC barreled 10/22 and he was using a borrowed SR22. At the end we were both trying for those golf balls, and I was watching through my scope when he took one lucky shot that knocked down both balls!

Not to throw a kink into all the fun of blowing up Golf Balls but, being that I have worked at a golf course for the last two seasons, that I have heard it is against the law to take and or use golf balls for anything else then golf. Taking them off the golf course constitutes a case of littering. But that is only one rumor I have heard while at work.:D

Uhhhhhhhh??!!!!!!! Tack-243,

I hope your not serious with THAT statement!!! Lol!

Besides, the BEST place to shoot golfballs is the driving range.
Small target, varing distances, and moving. Can it get better?
