Shooting mats

Been looking at shooting mats and pretty sure I narrowed it down to the tab gear large gp shooting mat. My are and some of my best remote areas to get out to a thousand plus yards is rocky blasted rock at abondon mine sites anyone have any Experience with this particular mat and think it would suit my needs. It’s this or voodoo tactical but last couple years been really trying to support North American companies and tab is made in my favourite part of the states Texas

These are fantastic mats. Good closed cell foam from end to end. Great for shooting off gravel or other uneven ground.

do you want just a mat, or a mat that carries your rifle and a bit of gear?

I don't have any experience with the Tab GP mat but I do have their lighter weight version (Pollock?) with just the padded strip for your elbows. It's held up great over the years. That Voodoo Tactical stuff, on top of being built by commies, just doesn't last (I've got an old drag bag/shooting mat of theirs that started falling apart not long after I got it).

That Canadian one is nice but a bit bulky as some spots I have to hump in on foot also not looking for bag combo as my cadex came with a pretty decent drag bag

As adamg said, the Cabelas one is a steal for the money. Three of guys I shoot with have them and they love them.

You can’t beat the cabelas mat on sale! Have had mine for years now and has held up great.

I'm also on the Cabela's mat at sale price. Mine has a few years on it as well and still fine.

Another vote for the Cabelas mat. I got mine years ago for $59. Still looks new. Seriously, it can’t be beat.

Over thinking a shooting mat is a problem, IMHO.

+1 for the cabelas mat when it's on sale. It rolls up into a log but they are pretty tough and well padded.

I'd say about 85% of the guys that I've competed with in F Class shooting (myself included) use Cabela's shooting mats. They do the job well.

Despite this thread starting in 2021, and only recently coming back from the dead, I thought the idea was not to promote products by non sponsors. The Big C company makes a bucket of money off many many shooters in this country, without getting free promotion.
