Short KSGs

It just got more tempting to buy...thank you Mesa Tactical

14 in the tubes plus 1 in the chamber AND 12 on the ready...27 in total may be heavy but never gonna fear about running out of shells :D

My interpretation is this:

Manually operated shotgun (pump, bolt..etc)
Minimum barrel length 8.5"
OAL when fully closed to shortest possible length needs to be greater than 26"
If all these criteria are met, it is non-restricted.

This includes; pistol grips, folding stocks, bird head stocks, etc.

So close/collapse your shotgun to the shortest fireable length and then measure it.
There is no such thing as a minimum barrel length for non-restricted, manual action firearms.

I think this bears repeating since no one has seemed to tune into it yet.

US DoS/ITAR will forbid export of any NFA weaponry without a valid end user certificate to LE/mil/etc. You will not see these up here legally. Sorry guys.
If you aren't up to speed on NFA I suggest you click here.

Barrel length a non issue but I thought OAL has to be 26" or above to be non restricted? The Tactical model is under 26"

No, it's doesn't, depending who you ask to interpret the law.

As long as it hasn't become under 26" by "folding, collapsing, or some other means". It was built that length, so that's the length it is.

has anyone actually produced official statements that confirm this, or set a precedent yet? or are we still just 'interpreting' and 'theorizing'?

people like to do that in this forum, and its a dangerous game considering that someones life could easily be ruined if they listen to the 'theories' and get caught by an LEO running around in the bush with a PGO 8.5" shotgun.

It doesn't matter what we theorize or interpret. When it arrives in stores near you, classification will have already been determined, so no guess work for us.

when it comes to something like the KSG, yes.

the problem is that some people 'interpret' that to apply to putting PGOs on short shotguns and reducing their length <26".

if thats not what was intended in the post then dont mind me, its just that i see it all too often in these forums.
